Powering a Mint Split unit in an RV by solar and lithium batteries

I setup my split phase so that I had a dedicated 240V Breaker for the mini split. And a 30A breaker(s) supplying each side of my ac distribution panel and balanced my loads in the panel. That gave me a total of 6000W power in the distribution panel (excluding mini split. Wife would run the...

this load calculator is not 100% but it might get you there... remember that inverters can be as low as 75% to 90% efficient...the more expensive the unit usually the better

BTW.... remember to keep receipts for eveything... bolts, panels, wire, framing, tools... you get some back when you file taxes.... Your rig has a bedroom, kitchen and bathroom...qualifies just like a house. I got 30% back on the first rig and I think 26% back on the current rig on fed...

Powering a Mint Split unit in an RV by solar and lithium batteries

sorry for the delay today was a travel day. There are so many variables to the question... how well insulated is the rig, air leakage, how hot is it outside, where the rig is located.... are the temps at night comfortable enough to open windows. I know that on both rigs I over built the...

Powering a Mint Split unit in an RV by solar and lithium batteries

That sounds like you will have a sweet setup when you are done. I had a cassette in the Dutch Star only because I did not have any wall space inside the RV. I like the wall unit we now have (more efficient to convert dc to 120V AC) because it keeps the install simpler (1 Inverter no sub...

Powering a Mint Split unit in an RV by solar and lithium batteries

We do try to chase 75-85 temps. We actually prefer open windows and fresh air... we do run the air during the day for the pets...nice to not have to worry about them when we are out running around in hot weather. We do not typically run the ac overnight. The closest we have come to that was...

Powering a Mint Split unit in an RV by solar and lithium batteries

Hookem,, I used Lishen 272AH cells. 8 cells in 2 packs. so the battery bank is 544AH at 24V. It is larger than my old 48V because I wanted to have the reserve for several days of cloudy weather or being parked under trees.

Powering a Mint Split unit in an RV by solar and lithium batteries

forgot to mention that I also had a 21 cu ft residential fridge and cooking on induction cooktop on the old rig...if your setup is different you may not be as much of a power hog as we were. I did a quick laod worksheet to ballpark my needs on the new rig...still over built

Powering a Mint Split unit in an RV by solar and lithium batteries

That was for the whole rig. Reused existing cabling saved time and money. Inserted (with breaker) 48V to 12V converter to handle 12V loads. Just built out new rig with 24V system (544AH) with single 3k Multiplus and a wall mount mini split. kept propane for cooking and wave6 heater this time...

    Replacing 272Ah with 280AH

Thanks all for the feedback. Xuba came back and said that they do have a few Lishens left. I am getting a total of 4 sent... couple spares this time. I I am building the rv system with 2 packs and 2 BMS...glad I did now. At least we would still be in business if this happens while we are on...

will the PS-3010DF-2 shut off the current?

will the PS-3010DF-2 shut off the current?

New to the pwr supply Will recommends...downloaded the manual...waste of time. I am getting ready to top balance a new 24V battery using Lishen cells. I am assuming that I can set the unit for constant voltage of 3.6V. Will the PS-3010DF-2 power supply shut off the current when the cell...

    Replacing 272Ah with 280AH

Need some advice... I purchased 16 Lishen 272AH cells from Xuba. I placed them in 2 24V packs. I noticed that one of the cells is swelling. Xuba does not have any Lishen cells but does have an EVE 280AH cell in stock for a replacement. They are almost exactly the same in size so no issues...

Newbie wanting to run a 230v mini split with 2 indoor units

Newbie wanting to run a 230v mini split with 2 indoor units

BTW: I did not do any deflection for the panels but I did add another z bracket along the sides of each panel. Also note that if I did not have the issue with the doorway and the unit being flush with the ceiling, I would be ok with the 12k single unit. I forgot to mention that I converted...

Newbie wanting to run a 230v mini split with 2 indoor units

Hi, I have been running a 12K Senville Cassette for about 4 years now in a 40FT Dutch Star motorhome. I have 1800W of panels (300ea) in 2 strings,Victron: 150/35, 2 48V Quattros in split phase, BMV712, and Color Control module. My battery is 48V 200A Lithium and a DC-DC converter for 12V...

Recommendations for Mini-Split Heat Pump System

We have been running a 240V cassette mini split (Senville) in a 40ft RV for a few years now. Setup: 1800W solar, 200AH lithium battery at 48V, Victron Quattro (x2) inverters (all electric rv). We have been in 105 degree Arizona heat and and 23 degree Colorado mountains. Air: If you can get...

    Proposed 24v Motorhome Solar System

Mike, Sorry for the delay in replying...been busy running around getting things lined up for the new rig... My inverters stay on all the time and never go to "sleep" this does impact the overhead but not as much as I initially feared, compared to what I pull all the time in loads. I went to...

    Proposed 24v Motorhome Solar System

I was just going over my reply and realized I did not include a couple of things: In an RV the "50A" covers everything in the RV air, a/c loads, dc loads. I think the DC-DC converter could be a lot smaller since it will only be used to power the dc loads in the coach. I also wanted to clarify...

    Proposed 24v Motorhome Solar System

Hello and welcome to the wonderful world of solar powered wandering. (Sorry for the book below....) I was wondering if you have a chance to do a power audit to estimate your average daily needs? I found this to be an invaluable tool during my planning stage. I really like the Victron for the...

Powering a Mint Split unit in an RV by solar and lithium batteries

I will be installing another mini-split (12K 110V) on the new trailer we have purchased. removing the roof A\C will give me plenty of space for 1500W solar. I have seen people in vans put the outside unit on a reciever hitch platform with the gas genny right next to it and gave up the wall...

Powering a Mint Split unit in an RV by solar and lithium batteries

I have been running a 12K mini split in a 40ft rv for almost 3 years... due to lack of wall space I put in a ceiling cassette unit (240V). I run 1800W Solar, and 200AH 48V Lithium battery. When I run ac you can see that the unit pulls 350 to 850Watts (AC) I do start my A\C before the heat load...
