General question for EG4 6500 owners

I think the only reason most people buy SA is because the provided software for remote monitoring is total crap, the having to use the USE setting pretty much requires you have a way of remote monitoring and half the time the eg4 products function so hit and miss you can’t rely on them behaving...

    EG4 6500 sudden death

Nope, took them down and put up a sol-ark 15k. Purchased a new raspberry pi, Still haven’t herd anything out of signature Solar, I’ve called two weekends and waited for a call back. Eventually I’ll get the eg4’s warrantied and then sell them for a discount for someone that wants to use them.

General question for EG4 6500 owners

Might as well buy some spares you’ll be lucky if they make it to the end of the year let alone 5 years that’ll never happen. I was running a similar setup went through 3 replacements in less than 9 mo. Bought a sol-ark and have never had a single issue since setup. The eg4’s will go months...

PLEASE HELP - EG4-LL (V1 with updated Victron Firmware) generating Cell Over Voltage at 100% SOC

Having completed top balancing mine use a few different methods there is really two options. You have to open the battery up and install an active balancer. Programming it so it will start balancing at say 3.3v then charge battery up as high as you can get it safely not exceeding 3.65v then shut...

    Signature solar horrible customer service

I did that and ran outa inverters before every getting a reply to an email or call back changed one out in November one had another one fail outa the blue after running a similar amount of time. They last about 4months or so before randomly burning up. So if I ever do get ahold of SS and get...

    Solar Assistant unit blew up

I had the same thing happen, I was in the room when it failed. The eg4 6500 was powering loads like normal just lights at the time. Then the inverter faulted f12 I believe, dc-dc over current. Pv was disconnected at the time actually because we were supposed to be having some extreme high winds...

PLEASE HELP - EG4-LL (V1 with updated Victron Firmware) generating Cell Over Voltage at 100% SOC

I have some eg4-ll v1 and some eg4-ll v2. The v2 are staying balanced as they should below 0.010mv even at a high soc. All of the v1 batteries have been horribly balanced from day one. Finally I noticed one day they are off by as much as .5v (yes 500mv) it is not possible for them to self...

General question for EG4 6500 owners

Yes I am aware of who makes the sol-arks. I could have been more clear on the customer comment. With sol-ark typically a professional is involved in the install and I would consider the installer the customer. The installer can communicate easily to sol-ark in Texas and they obviously have a...

General question for EG4 6500 owners

Have had a pair of them running since last summer full time. I’ve had one fail around nov. just faulted out high bus voltage and was replaced. This week fault f12 dc-dc overcurrent. These have been running full time since summer, only shutdown for firmware updates. In the end I have have these...

EG4 6500 Inverter shutdown with F80 fault during testing

More thank likely, I had some issues with the comms that would go away if the pv was disconnected I found out. I also discovered a significant amount of the rfi is from the mppt. I have a pv disconnect very close to the inverters then a run of approx 100ft out to the pv array. If the disconnect...

    EG4 6500 sudden death

Been running a pair of EG4 6500ex inverters and eg4-ll v1 / v2 batteries since last summer. Split phase setup, 2p1 and 2p2, had the original 2p1 fail with error code f08 bus voltage to high after running steady for around 3 months. So got a replacement for the 2p1, and it’s been running fine...

EG4 6500 Inverter shutdown with F80 fault during testing

I have had similar issue plague the eg4 6500 pair that I’m running as well. Trying to do the exact same thing as you with solar assistant. The can bus errors I have relate to charging amperage of the inverters. Here is what I’ve discovered. It is directly related to the ground bond configuration...
