Progressive dynamics said it charges in lit mode at 14.6v https://www.progressivedyn.com/wp-content/uploads/Support/manuals/4600_test.pdf

    Class C motorhome install

Yeah I modified the diagram since then. Here is a link to a thread with the updated diagram. https://diysolarforum.com/threads/feedback-on-class-c-rv-diagram.60503/

    Class C motorhome install

I have to plug the shore line connector to the output of the generator for it to power. So it only gets the 30A input from one line coming in. I am the transfer switch for that.

    Class C motorhome install

Thanks, well, I guess I could have saved myself some money on the converter. But I have it now.... I am not sure I understand the second part. I currently have the Shore power and on board Generator that feed the converter. My assumption is that there is a switch already there that takes...

    Class C motorhome install

Yeah, well I put the blame on myself :-( Hopefully stuff will work. I am replacing my Magnetek 7345 converter with a Progressive Dynamics PD4645V. I talked and emailed with Progressive Dynamics techs and they walked me through the jumper setting to make it work with Litium batteries. It...

mounting panels to Class C RV

My Class C RV has a fiberglass roof. I have 4 Renogy 100W panels that I will want to install. I am looking for the best method of installation. I do not want to drill any holes into the roof. I saw this install video and was wondering what people thought of it. . Instead of the sicoflex...

Feedback on Class C RV diagram

Thanks, sadly, I am committed to the DCC30S since I already own it :-( I wish I knew more about it before Renogy convinced me to get it vs. seperate DC to DC and MPPT units. If it limits it sounds like I will have to consider swapping the unit out for two separate units. Also sounds like i...

Feedback on Class C RV diagram

First off, I apologize for putting up duplicate info as I continue to get confused and educated by looking everyone else's diagrams. I have a 2003 Winnebago Minnie and am wanting to get it ready to be able to be able to boondock for short periods of time. Like a week or so. I don't plan on...

    Classic 400Watt system question

After working on my design it keeps getting closer to the updated Classic 400 Watt system, but one question is about how the shore power circuit is disconnected from the system. It seems that cutting off that system would reduce functionality, am missing something? If I wanted to convert the...

Renogy DC DC Charger w/ MPPT

Is there a setting in the app for that too?

Renogy DC DC Charger w/ MPPT

Watching the alternator video and the fact that it seems I have a 130 A alternator, the 30A version seems to be the best fit. And also I would have to pay to ship the 30A version back to Renogy.....

Renogy DC DC Charger w/ MPPT

Per the VIN it is a 130 amp alternator

Renogy DC DC Charger w/ MPPT

I am ok with it taking a bit longer. If I drive four hours, it would be nice to get a good charge. Hopefully the solar when stationary will charge them. No idea on the alternator.

Does the "Classic 400W Solar Package" eliminate charging from the onboard Generator

Question on this. If I wanted to convert the classic system to have the option for charging via shore power wouldn't that just require connecting the existing AC-DC converter charger in the RV to the system like it is with the current FLA, non solar system that was stock? Where would it...

Renogy DC DC Charger w/ MPPT

It is Gas, thanks. Yeah, I went renogy because of the videos here...... so I guess wish me luck.....

Renogy DC DC Charger w/ MPPT

Yeah, which is why I am confused. So I don't know what to do. The 400 watt with alternator diagram says the 50amp but the link goes to the 30 amp version. so.....?

Renogy DC DC Charger w/ MPPT

I don't know exactly. I think because they didn't know the specs for the alternator which I don't know as well

Renogy DC DC Charger w/ MPPT

Renogy told me to get the 30Amp version vs. the 50 Amp version for my RV project. Should I return the 30 and go with the 50? It will be a Class C motorhome, with 4x100W panels and two Lithium 100Ah batteries connected to the stock alternator that came in the Ford E450 chasis. I have no idea...

    Proof my RV plans....

Makes sense about the multiple transfer switches and generator. My generator doesn't have a shore power input it is an output. When I turn my generator on, you plug the shore power cord into the outlet from the generator, so it is equivalent to plugging it into the shore power outlet. I just...

    Proof my RV plans....

I am a beginner so forgive my naïve questions. Why do you need the two transfer switches? My generator has a plug that the shore power plugs into does yours look different? I also am confused by the AC-DC converter, is that a Converter Charger?

    Proof my RV plans....

Your system looks like it will be similar to mine. I have a Class C RV as well. What does your diagram look like now? I ended up going with a charger with MPPT so it is the DC-to-DC and solar controller all in one from Renogy.

    Class C motorhome install

Thinking about my diagram, I don't need a switch between shore power and generator, because those are the same. Because you plug the cord into the generator. So disregard that.

    Class C motorhome install

Please forgive my newbie questions. I did research before posting. I have a Class C Motorhome from 2003 with Deep Cycle LDA batteries. I am starting the process of converting to Lithium but every time I think I understand it, another issue pops up. I modified the diagram on the Renogy page...
