And it begins…. I picked up my batteries yesterday from 18650batterystore. My 7hr round trip turned into 8hrs thanks to Atlanta traffic… but saved me $180 in shipping ($240 quote - $60 for gas).
Finding their store was a pain (suite 500??? In the middle of 190-200’s???) but other than that everything was great. One thing to keep in mind is these batteries are heavy!! 64 had my van loaded down! I doubt I could have picked up 80!
As for packaging, I took one of the original 40 battery pallets and the rest in 4 pack boxes. Both protect the batteries very well.
Price has increased a lot over the past 2 months. Originally I had 64 in my cart for $9,576 ($630 per x 16 - 5% coupon code) +$185 for freight so $9,761. Unfortunately the day I went to order they sold out!! Well damn that’s just my luck! So after waiting a few weeks they came back up as a preorder but at a higher price! I emailed and explained the situation and they honored the original pack price of $630 since I was buying so many… so my total ended up being $10,080 with me picking them up. Still $504 more than what they would have been had my order went thru… oh well!
All that said, I have not had a chance to test the cells yet but based off appearance I seriously doubt they are anything but A grade direct from EVE. Would I buy them again, NO. Why? Because the price increase. If I ordered them today it would be $11,200… but that does include free shipping. At that price I would order direct from EVE or possibly from Docan (based on mixed reviews).
I will update one I get a chance to do some testing but as I said I figure they are good. I need to figure out how to look up the battery code to confirm manufacture date… picture of one attached if anyone knows how.
