Surfing
The fifth and final new sport for Tokyo, surfing will be contested on Shidashita Beach in Chiba, roughly 40 miles outside the capital. Surfing will be of the shortboard variety with a competition for both men and women's. Now I don't want to stray too far off the topic of being off topic, nor do I wish to wax politically incorrect, but I do find it interesting that the Olympic committee has the unmitigated audacity to specify just the two genders as event participants.

In a round about way full circle back to solar etc. not so much dyi but a seed was planted all from the Olympics.
