AliExpress Level 2 EV chargers anyone?

Hi All,

We joined the EV revolution last month (2023 MG ZS) and are managing (just) to supply it with our existing 5kW setup. We're upgrading this winter to an 11kW inverter, doubling our PV array and building a DIY LiFePO4 battery (16 x 304Ah cells).

To help with the EV charging I'm looking for a level 2 charger (7kW, 32A), and am interested to know if anyone has tried any of the ones available through AliExpress. The official MG one is NZ$1300!!! so a cheaper option would be great. Any advice or experience greatly appreciated!

Is a level 2 charger that expensive?

For level 2, My Tesla wall charger is 48 amps 11 kw charging and sells for us$450. My Tesla mobile connector is us$250 and I think that does 32 amps 7 kWh.

I’m thinking of building a battery bank to charge, and I would charge at about 12 amps 3 kw. For the 7 kWh I use every day and overnight charging, that’s plenty for me.
