Battery/Solar Controller Load

Hello everyone,

Let’s say it’s a bright day out, generating lots of solar, and I am running 2000 watts through my inverter. If the batteries are half full, does the solar controller first send energy to the battery cells, which then go into the inverter, or can energy from the solar controller travel directly to the inverter.

I would assume the 2nd option since power is power and everything is connected on the same terminals.

You're overthinking it.

Your available battery capacity is a lake.

Your solar is a river flowing into it.

Your loads are a river flowing out of it.

It doesn't matter which water molecules go where. If you have more loads than you have supply, the lake goes down. If you have more supply than loads, the lake goes up.

Thanks for the reply. I was mainly just asking from a battery fatigue stand point. Only out of curiously and not a general concern
