I have a Bluette/Rich Solar 1500X in my van. I run an inverter directly from the battery (with an isolator) and the 1500X's AC adapter plugged into it. This allows the battery to charge when I am driving. I want to put a 100 watt solar panel on the roof, but with stuff on roof it will not be very efficient at all. But thinking for the $125 it will cost me, that it might be worth the best of extra power when parked. I do not want a portable panel for a number of reasons.
My question is can I make a Y cable with the 8mm adapters and have the AC charger (I know it pushed in as DC) and the solar panel? I do not want a switch or to have to swap them when I park. Any reason the Y-cable would not work?
If not I am open for any ideas anyone may have.
