That explains a LOT all by itself. You go thru life cluelessly thinking you are getting unbiased search results.
That depends on where you get your information, the big mac index is a lighthearted way of comparing purchasing power equity. You might find more serious comparisons if you want. Based on that and the fact that the McDonald's CEO earns nearly 500 times that, I pointed out that $20 per hour does not seem excessive. Since then I have exposed the hypocrisy of the people complaining that $20 is too high as none have stated they would switch to a career in the fast food business when the starting wage is $20 per hour.

The question that still lingers is why you guys can't be happy for people earning at least $20 per hour?

none of us is going to take a pay cut to work at McDonalds, so stow your strawman away for later.

I can only speak for myself... guess what, i mowed lawns, delivered papers and yes for a short period of time worked at a McDonalds I understood it for exactly what it was a training period to show to future prospective employers that I could attend on time and through hard work and perseverance move up. this then translates to your next job where you do the same only better and that eventually translates to your next job. WTF would I take over a 120k a year pay cut to work for 20/hour? what kind of crack are you smoking? Hunter Biden level?

You don't seem to understand my post .... I was questioning your choice of search engines.

I also don't think I have posted an opinion about the minimum wage except to point out how it will make it more likely for McDonalds and other fast food chains to automate and eliminate employees.
But, here you are ..... still mucking around in US politics. What country are YOU from?

Who "revealed" that?

Under Biden the economy added nearly 15 million jobs, 6 million more than were lost under Trump due to the pandemic. The only president who did worse than Trump was Herbert Hoover during the great depression. At this rate it looks like Biden is going to have the highest job growth in US history, beating Franklin Roosevelt by a large margin.

The way I understand it is that even thought unemployment is still below 4%, unemployment went up as there are more people looking for work who had previously stopped looking. I would have expected both sides to welcome that development. What I would be concerned about is that inflation is still higher than the increase in wages.
One of many true reports if you just look.

Obviously, I wouldn't ask why you couldn't be happy for people earning at least $20 per hour if I knew that answer.
I feel sorry for them. I believe their giddiness of getting more dough will be short lived. With food costing much more, less and less folks going to their business because of the direct effect this has, they will more than likely be laid off... but maybe just maybe this is the actual reason the government wants this...?

Surely you are not suggesting that giving people lower wages is the answer to inflation, maybe you'd like to clarify? Like I pointed out, earlier, McDonald's has been raising prices, yet they increased profits to 14.5 billion in profits last year.

I can be more direct if you like.

No one wants to take a job in the fast food industry at $20 per hour, that is a good indication that even $20 is too low for the hypocrites who claim that $20 is too high. What is wrong with you? Why can't you be happy for people earning even that wage? How little should others earn before you are happy?

Feel better now?

I am in good company in that respect.

If you mean your country is the US, than your country is not in bad shape. A good indication is that many people from worse countries would like to move there. However, there is no evidence that you are an American.
What you dont seem to get is that all the other poor people didnt get a 33% pay raise. Pensioners, welfare recipients, SSI, the unemployed. Now they struggle even more to eat. The government cant just randomly single out a group of the population for a windfall like this. It only leads to more inflation. And its gonna be another illegal immigration magnet.
The ones that also get hurt here is franchisees, the small business owners. Most arent millionaires.
Yeah it would be nice if everyone holding full time jobs made enough to live on.
When has it ever worked that way? To my knowledge, never.
I can assure the people seeking true socialism, or communism, or anything in between, be careful what you wish for. You just might get it and its going to be a disaster.

The fast food workers minimum wage rose by $4 from $16 per hour, that would be a 25% increase i the minimum wage for workers in the fast food chains with more than 60 branches. Those with fewer brances, the small buisnesses are not affected by the increase in minimum wages. I would like to reitterate that $20 per hour does not seem excessive when compared with wages for similar jobs in a country like Denmark. I would like to point out that Denmark has consistently topped the US in the World Happiness Report in all six areas of life satisfaction: income, healthy life expectancy, social support, freedom, trust and generosity. Maybe people there can be happy for other people?

McDonald's had already been raising prices before the increase in the minimum wage and increased profits by 10%, no one here thought of the poor pensioners, welfare recipients, SSI, or the unemployed. I have no doubt that they will use the higher wages as an excuse to increase prices (and profits) even further. I fully expect that all businesses, including the fast food industry, will introduce or increase automation the moment that seems profitable. Higher wages could speed that up but if they do, I don't think it wil be by much. It will be interested to compare the level of automation in McDonalds restaurants by the states mimimum wages in the future. What do you think, will automation in Alabama significantly lag automation in California?

These companies have their WOKE FINGER in everything. They are not taking a pay cut.

That is problem with tards on the left they always think can redistribute the wealth from the rich elite. They won’t be harmed at all as they will cash in and walk away. Leaving the recently raised pay with no pay. Why communism never works the rich are not going to go broke and give up power. The left are just retarded and keep trying every time. In the end we all pay and inflation goes up. You will never get equality because the labor is not equal nor is the brain and investment risk. A poor man has never given me a job.

The only way to fix this in one way.
