CME and EMP question

I was reading about the big CME (Coronal Mass Ejection) that missed our planet (mostly) on March 12 2023.
Made me realize the next “Carrington” event is just going to be a random surprise for the Earth.
Kind of a ”Great equalizer”, as we will all be back to the Stone Age, electrically.

I have read about EMP, and a CME seems to be a large version of EMP.
Pretty sure that the old vacuum tube radios I have will be OK.
But the solar panels, CC, inverters, etc will be reduced to smoking junk, right?
Probably no practical way to protect any of that?

we had one last night and my state of charge overnight went from 30 to 70%
On my graph it started at about 8 pm PST 11/26/2023 did anyone else with an EG4 18K PV see this log? I am off grid and ended up in the morning of 11/27/2023 with about 20% more state of charge. It appears that this solar flare charged my EG4 LL battery rack overnight? never seen this before.
