No but I see that working also if batteries placed directly on the bottom if expanding.. But I like the extra head room for placing 2 selves of 8s cells. Plus I plan on placing the second self OVER/on top of the power bar. Mine came with 2 selves and a large fan that I could attach a temp control to if even needed but woulf be an interesing proeject.

I placed the included 15A power bar at the bottom for a convinent place for emergancy power. It has a nice long cord so easily plugged into my inverter.
