Once my system uses the batteries to 20% it switches to grid and will not switch back until the batteries are at least 60%. This seems odd to me, if the grid went down and my batteries were less than 60% would I be out of luck? I have it set so only PV charges the batteries.

My System:
2 EG4 3Ks in 120/240 mode
3 EG4 5K batteries
16 used 240w panels

My Settings:
Program 01 SUB - Utility will provide power to loads at the same time as solar if solar is not sufficient (paraphrased).
Program 43 Point back to utility if state of charge is 20%
Program 44 Point back to battery when state of charge is 60%... the lowest setting it will go
Program 45 Low DC cutoff state of charge 20%. I could go as low as 5%.

45 should be lower than 43. Even if only 1% lower.
Program 44 Point back to battery when state of charge is 60%... the lowest setting it will go
I assume that you are using BMS communications.
Some settings are out of your control in this case.

It should still revert to battery.

How much battery capacity do you want to keep in reserve?

43 - set higher if you want more battery reserve incase of grid outage.

44 - set lower if you have solar that goes unused during the day and you don't mind cycling between battery and grid more frequently.

45 - set at 5, this is the point where the inverters shutdown due to dead batteries...(if the grid was down and you didn't have sufficient solar.)

Yes 45 is lower than 43
Yes I'm using BMS
Thank for your your thoughts!
