Hi,
Recently had a Growatt SPH 6kw inverter and a pair of AXE 5 batteries installed with 16 panels.
8 410w panels East facing and 8 west.
Works a treat , very happy, apart from this.
On sealing the deal I commented on the fact I'd be able to run in a power cut, which are becoming more frequent lately, but I won't put on my tin foil hat about my theories on that.
First power cut and it all shut down!
So, I learned more and realise there is a 4kw EPS output but it's not wired.
The installer is not particularly inclined to do any more than fit a socket in the garage next to the inverter as he states UK legislation doesn't like feedback to the grid.
This I can understand but manual and automated switching is available and easy to wire in so I don't understand his reluctance.
Anyone in the UK fitted automatic or manual EPS switching as I'm pretty sure it's possible.
My experience is with design of production machines and industrial controls for said automated machinery, so I'm pretty sure of the circuitry required and cannot see an issue.
Nor can I find anything on the internet that says it's not allowed.
Any advice gratefully received.
Many thanks

You need to build a separate installation for the ESP output - this, like a socket in the garage, is not prohibited
