As mentioned in a previous thread, we're planning to use an already existing genertor lock-out inside the MEP to feed it from the Sol-Ark 15k. The feed to the breaker currently comes from a 10kW diesel generator via 4AWG CU, and sits behind an 80 amp breaker on the MEP panel. For background, the MEP has a 200 amp main breaker and the MEP busbar is rated 225 amps. The gennie feed will be moved to the S/A, and utilize the 2-wire start feature (not really relevant, but major cool!).

We have available a 125 amp breaker we could put in the current 80 amp breaker spot, and we could upgrade the wire (which would now be coming from the S/A to the MEP) if needed. The S/A can only output 62.5 amps. My question, to you code-savvy guys, is there a need to upgrade the breaker/wire for code reasons? How about operational?...is bigger better for any reason?

Thanks again!
