Giant 3ph UPS.. could be useful to supply 3ph power?

Hello everyone,
I was given a giant (1500lb server rack) 30kva UPS made by Liebert model AP341. From what I gather, it takes a DC input and can output 3ph AC. Basically sounds like an inverter? I'd have to get a battery bank... And it would have to be a big one and 300+ volts... But could this be used to power 3ph loads once in a while? Since I don't have 3ph at my property...
Obviously lots of other steps needed, but I'm just trying to decide if I want to keep this thing, or try and sell it...

Yes. Absolutely it would drive 3phase loads. Yes you need a truck load of batteries to power it in it's normal mode. However. If you are just looking for 3phase power to run something specific you might be able to feed it rectified power to a capacitor bank. You would need your single phase power fed to the capacitor bank for the inverter to use as it's source.

Caveats: You would be dealing with lethal voltages everywhere in this setup and non-trival protection requirements.

Recommendation: If you're not a savvy electrical guy you should sell it. Need 3 phase? Get a rotary phase converter.

Battery bank needs to be massive (in terms of the amount of cells). Our 60kVA requires 42 lead-acid batteries (adjustable to 40 if I remember correctly), so that's over 500V DC.

Tha'ts a whole different game than playing with 24 or 48V banks. (and, instead of these low voltages, this is a lethal voltage, so unless you're fully aware of the risks, have the proper tools, including personal protection like insulated gloves), I won't do so.

You might use it for parts tho. Those are very decently build. Massive capacitors (ours had multiple 3300uF / 600V DC ones), but also high quality fuses. Ours has for example multiple Bussmann FWP-250A fuses. Those are very expensive!

I have a 18.5 kv 240v Cyberex cu-22018, (working when replaced) used the 48 12v 6a batteries and cabinet out of, don't need the parts, pm me if interested, it has 2 - 144vdc inverters, Joe

Thanks for the input and info. It's still sitting out on my trailer. With it being hard to deal with, and requiring a significant investment into a battery bank, I think I'll post it for sale locally here in Phoenix. If I don't get any offers, I'll go from there.
