Growatt 12kwh SPF 12000T DVM lack of CANBUS

OK so I'm trying to work out if my growatt 12000 has CANBUS or not. I cannot seem to get it to work at all with a pylontech type battery. Has anyone who has one of these inverters tried using CANBUS? I've even tried probing all the pins to see if I can see the 120 Ohm termination resistor and nothing on the CAN port. I'm wondering if it's a faulty unit. I've attached PIN4 to CANH and Pin5 to CANL and played around a bit with the grounds. No joy. I've also confirmed that the BMS is sending out pylontech type packets via a CAN sniffer (It's a Batrium).

Can you tell me what protocol setting you used in the Growatt to get CANBUS to broadcast the pylontech protocol? I see in the manual that L51 to L99 are reserved for the CAN protocol. I can try them all but would like to avoid the troubleshooting if you could share. Thanks!
