Hi all,
I am based in the UK and have a friend who wishes to buy approx 30 x 550w bi facial panels, he is physically disabled and needs to reduce his electricity costs long term, so we are going to work together to achieve this goal. The inverters would probably be 2 x y & h 8.2 kw hybrid inverters with a 16kwh 48v lifepo4 backup battery, to be increased to over time. I am currently looking at other ways to store the generated electricity such as hot water and sand batteries because as far as i'm aware, the uk doesn't allow too much to be exported back into the grid, and what little it does, they pay a pittance for.
I have used a company called GWL for batteries and bms's etc, they are based in the chez republic but have good support and products, does anyone happen to know if there is import duty and VAT applicable when purchasing a pallet of 31 solar panels from gwl (based in chez republic) and being sent into the uk?
Also any info on reputable solar panel sellers in the uk would be gratefully recieved.
Thanks in advance
Tom
