This isn't normal. It's Ireland! Our weather is internationally renowned for being "sh1t".
This year I went from charging my phone to the below. At 42p per kilowatt hour this actually has an effect. That is close to 50/50 fuel mix house wide. With the UK grid fuel mix already only ~35% fossil, that makes my office pretty squeaky clean at 50% or 35%.
Only one room is off-grid. "Off Grid Office 2023!"
Next... Off grid car.
(Note.... in Ireland, in winter, chances are this spends 90% of it's time on grid life support.)
