Hi all ,

I have 6x425w panels , 2s3p , mounted on a flat roof gently sloping east
Victron smart mppt 150/70 , 15kwh of AMG batteries

2550w array total ,

My question is this , the panels are making 2815w pmax on some days, well over their rated output, is this normal?

(The system is making plenty of power , 16kwh+ on some days, so I'm not complaining, just wondering )

Possibly but it is also possible that your measurement of actual power produced is inaccurate.

Cloud edging can cause overproduction.

On a pure sunny day if you are reading overproduction I would bet that it's an inaccurate measurement.

Are the panels bifacial? Those are rated for the front side output only, and light on the backside gives you some bonus power.

Are there light-colored objects nearby that might be reflecting or diffusing some sunlight onto the panels from additional directions?

You're only talking 10.4% extra, so it wouldn't take much extra light, or other more favorable operating conditions (e.g. low temperature compared to standard test conditions) to give it to you. Also: the panels might be rated at less than their actual when-new output, so they'll stay within warranted output longer.

Meanwhile, enjoy the bonus juice.
