So I have several large packs that were moved aside for other projects. I realized they were sitting for quite some time. All cells have voltage but balance is out of whack. Some are at 3.2V but I have a couple cells as low as 2.8V. Looking at some data, it appears 2.5V would be considered 0% so I am hoping I have caught this in time to get them a little boost?

I won't have a way to balance right now, but I intend to monitor cell voltage and simply stop if one runs a bit high, or I guess I could put a dummy load on that cell to burn some power.

For long term storage you should charge your pack to around 70% SOC and monitor cells voltages every few months.

I wouldn't worry much about the pack cells being unbalanced, but having a cell at 2.8v is not good. It will slowly self discharge and you don't want it below 2.5v or else it might not be recoverable. Maybe I'm exaggerating a bit, but for sure it will cause degradation and shorten the lifespan of the cell.
