Hello all! I have been running 12 CS panels as 3 strings into 2 EG4 6500's. But I want to increase the solar input. However, I am finding it difficult to locate any new CS3W-455's. SS has CS3W-400's that look the same and have the same dimensions so I was planning to buy 12 of those. Of course, I need to change to some parallel strings so I don't exceed the 500v input max of the 6500's. The Solar panel specs are below.
So if I change the original panel config to 6S2P the my max voltage should be about 296v and the current will be max around 30a but throttled to 18a by the MPPT.
The new panel config would also be 6S2P with a max of around 283v and current max of 29a also throttled to 18a by the MPPT
It is not as efficient but I am hoping to get more consistent inputs even on cloudy days.
Is my math correct? Do you have another configuration that you would suggest?
