The 15K and JKBMS are in closed loop but the battery float voltage setting is not showing correctly on the Sol-Ark.

The BMS requested float voltage is set to 53.6v but shows 55.2v on the Sol-Ark.

Any ideas?

What version of JKBMS do you have? Theres a lot.

The 55.2v shown on the Sol-Ark should be the "Default" or "Fall-Back" values. That way if the BMS stops communicating for some reason, it still has charge parameters to go off of. This is not indicating what the Sol-Ark is CURRENTLY charging to. You will see those values in the Lithium Batt tab.

Now, if the batteries are actually charging to 55.2v, and not 53.6v, then we have a problem.

I was not aware JK would communicate fully with SA?
Is this new problem or have the two have been communicating correctly until now?

I asked John Cromer the question at Sol-Ark training last week and he said if the battery page shows values then it is communicating. This is my first experience with SA and JK. I'm always learning something new.

Tonight I disconnected the no.1 battery module and plugged the comms into the 2nd battery module and the correct value showed on the Sol-Ark.

I cleared the settings on the no. 1 JKBMS and reset all the values. Plugged comms back in and it went back up to 55.2v for the float value. So it seems to be in that no.1 bms.

When setting up the bms dip switches, does the first one have to be 0? Or can I start with 1?
I started with 0 but the PC doesn't seem to properly connect to the bms to update fireware.
There is a new update released.

Has to be set to 1 for comms with PC with the Windows app, not sure what number it should be set to in an array of JK's but the master battery being set also to 1 would make sense.

I have the master set to zero. Originally in order to communicate with it, I had to set it to one and then change it back to zero after I did the fireware update. Sounds like I should start with one and go up from there.

A few months ago Off Grid Garage YouTube was having communication issues with the new JK. He shows how find and install in some of Andy’s videos. There have been a lot of software updates, do you have the latest version installed ?

I follow Andy and his positive comments on the latest JK BMS and he is the reason why I purchased them.

I already updated the firmware he said would fix the issues when I received the units. Last night I noticed there is another firmware update. I will be attempting to update it to that.

It also looks like the battery number one is showing 9 full charge and discharges, where as the other 3 are like 15.

On my set up which is closed loop SMA SI5048 to JK PB2A the float setting on the JK is never sent to the SI, it steadfastly receives 55.2V from the JK and charges to that V.

Hardware Ver 15.1 firmware 15.11

The new fireware (15.17 firmware) was successfully downloaded to the JKBMS in each battery box. Doing the update was not easy for me to figure out. It wouldn't connect to the BMS. Long story short, I had to uninstall the driver for the USB to RS485 adapter. After that the updates completed.

Hopefully this latest update will help with my issue. I'll keep an eye on it. So far the 15k is displaying the correct setting from the JKBMS.
