Considering from all he smash and grabs, catalytic converter thefts, porch pirates I'm surprised this hasn't caught on. Just wait for someone to go on vacation and home alone (movie reference) the place dressed up as installers...

Once batteries become the norm, they are going to have gold mines, imagine a 30KW backup, could easily flip it for 3-4 grand, most server racks are about the size of an atm.

Tie them to a pole in a public space and whip them. That will send a proper message.
