Hi all! Looking to build my first proper solar system for my house, which at this moment looks like this (in my imagination):
  • Off-grid / hybrid inverter(s) - don't mind if it's one big unit, or parallel smaller units
  • Automatic transfer switch for grid backup (it's Scotland, after all...)
  • 8kW array, eventually
  • Somewhere between 14-28kWh battery storage
  • Battery topped up by the grid at night when electricity is cheap (see above Scotland comment)
  • AC power requirement: somewhere between 12-18kW continuous (max)
I'm looking for inverter recommendations, particularly from a UK standpoint (I'm in southern Scotland). Where does everybody buy from over here? Is it easy to import e.g. Growatt or Sol-Ark inverters, or do we have a more limited choice buying in the UK? I've seen some nice options on Will's Youtube channel but I'm not sure about the availability outside the US...

Anyway, I realise that's a bit vague, but thought listening to a few war stories from you fine people might be able to give me some ideas....

TIA!

sol-ark is only sold in 120/240v regions...
Sunsynk is the same platform, but has UK support
if looking for the same platform, but dont care about support, look at Deye
