Used electric car batteries?

What are some of the pros vs cons with going this route? I'm I correct in saying these are great alternatives for battery banks?

With the Leaf battery you don't have the risk of fire like a Tesla pack. But the 7.5 volt cells do make it hard to match inverter specs (charge/low voltage cut off). I considered them, but ultimately passed and went prismatic. Glad I did...

This is the way I'm leaning. A 2013 Leaf has a 24kw pack, and you can buy a running one for 5 grand. A crashed one a whole lot less. Imaging 10 years from now when most cars are electric, and most crashes involve electric cars. Cheap storage is in our future!

If you decide to go that direction and get a whole battery from a car be very careful. You can get smoked in a second. 600v+ is no joke. I looked at that option too, but passed on it as I know my limitations.
