I'm curious about the Victron 330ah battery https://www.currentconnected.com/product/victron-12v-330ah-smart-solar-battery/ The footprint is pretty small! The price isn't absurd either. Would an external BMS manage multiple sells inside the battery or does the BMS treat it like one cell? Is there one cell inside?

Four prismatic cells, external BMS monitors each of them.

You can either use the lynx smart BMS (big bucks) or the ve.bus bms which is much more reasonable

Actually I misspoke, the old 300Ah now eol were using four cells, the new more energy dense 330Ah is using 8 cells:
