WTH is this new Cali BS? Income Based Rate Increase??? I don't understand.... someone look at this PLZ

Interesting conversation. I came to read about SDGE wanting $128/month for doing nothing 9 months out of the year. If and when this goes into effect, I am going to figure out how to disconnect. Winter will be hard, but at $1500 a year, I can pay for some gas.

You didn't watch any of the science in the court hearing, even when your own team "liberals" come out and refute something you pitch a fit. The dutch are known for growing the best nutrient dense food using mostly organic fertilizer with unrealistic yields using farming techniques over just pouring fertilizer out like grow candy. That's the shit we do here in the USA with petroleum based fertilizer and only concentrate on N more than anything else which is why our food is almost completely void of nutrients. I told you the EU and UN recognized this not long ago. Methane isn't a issue..if it was the shit you liberals spew out your mouth would have killed us all a long time ago.

You're wasting your time.

He hid his diety as a lowly plant electrician turned internet expert.

There are 300,000,000+ people in the USA and we imported $29,090,000 in the year 2021..

Lets use some of that grades school math (most of us) learned when we were like 7 years old.... that works out to $10.31 per person in the year 2021.

:ROFLMAO:

Is this the same math you used to analyze CO2 concentrations, man-made global warming vs. natural cycles, and all the rest?

Grade school math is a wonderful thing. I suggest everyone learn how to use it.

I agree.

(The peasants are revolting)

Huh? I think you have me confused with another member?

Now back to the point of my post, how has that grade-school math been working out for you? ;)

My math works just fine..

But I'm still missing your point.. are you arguing that volcano's create more co2 than man? Or is there something else?

What's with the cryptic replies?

He's saying you're so retarded you couldn't find water if you fell out of a boat.

If I was your grade school math teacher I would give you an "F" for eFFort.

Calculators are good for math.
But "Math" and "Word Problems" aren't exactly the same thing.
Lots of kids had trouble with word problems.
Out in the world, there aren't any pure math problems.

While all true, I'm still not going to be worried about the farming politics of some country on the other side of the planet.

But what does any of this have to do with volcanoes?

Regarding "Income Based Rates":

The Government cannot compel you to give income information to a private entity (utility). So the only way it will work is: You pay the highest monthly rate unless you want to prove a lower income to the utility. I wonder what that will cost the utility to review everyone's income tax return each year.

I foresee a lot of people putting the electric bill in the name of the kid. Or Grandma's name is on the bill of all the properties where her kids and grandkids live.

I found one article that said per kWh rates will be about 1/3 lower than before.
Your $375 --> $250, savings of $125
Your $10 --> ?? $128 ??, increase of $118 (or less, depending on income.)

Congratulations, you've just saved $7!
Don't spend it all in one place!

This is a proposal by the power companies, not yet approved. Also, it is a corporation trying to get $$$. Not socialism. It is clearly aimed at houses with solar, they are trying to recoup their loss on the original successor tariff.

It needs to go through the same CPUC process as the successor tariff. Let's hope we can do something about it before it is approved.
This was predictable suck, because joy boy also mandated all new housing in Cali must have solar! And there's a side order to that that new home buyers have to solar up in the offing. Along with the by-the-mile tax for cars because of EVs.

Ours averages about $375. I wonder what it will go up to now. ?

Well, before we left it was running closer to $500. Just for power. Add for CNG and water, which was also getting expensive. And that’s with some stuff shut down.

We moved to eastern Washington last September. Here Pacific Power is just under 10cents a kWh. CA was tiered, and we always went into the fourth tier so I think our average rate was about 35-40 cents.

House is 50% bigger, gas furnace and water heater, but very well insulated with newer thermo-windows, but it’s a lot colder here. Utilities are running a third to a half what it was there. Over the past month there were a couple of weeks where the temps never went over freezing. House is cozy, we keep it at 69, 70 in the evenings, and 66 at night. We both work at home so we’re pretty much here 24-7. Took three months to figure out it had a programmable thermostat - they had disabled all of the smart stuff.

They pitch solar here, but I don’t know what they’re doing with net metering. Also not sure about solar gain over winter months with the sun so low and all the weather/cloud cover. I guess if you can put solar up in England you could put them up here too.
