CATL 271Ah cell issues.

I was planning to place an order through Michael. Not so sure now. I guess the outcome of this ordeal will guide my decision. So far, it isn't looking good.

I believe the supplier is going to take care of this situation but not sure yet if that will be via refund or replacements.
I will be messaging everyone that bought has an order that I placed with that supplier as they want a specific number of cells involved.
I am still trying to get them to commit to just what the resolution will be before giving them that number but I want to start compiling it.

Micheal, Does this apply to my order. The order was for 8 new CATL 280ah but they shipped 4 new CATL 280 with bar code in tact but were badly damaged in shipment and 4 what look like used Lishen cells, badly budged, bar codes scratched out also badly damaged in shipment.
I PM you the pictures and test back on Aug 8 ,9 the I unboxed them.

You know , I've dealt with the Chinese for a long time. Yes there could be funny business on. Their end.
But no excuse with Mike not communicating. I've sent pm. and also personal email.

I started this deal in sept. Actually 8 months prior with an initial order that went smooth and fast.

How many people have price ate messages with the excuses? From this guy forgot , that company didnt have a container yada yada ya.

I get shit goes south , I have companies that jack a 40 foot container from $8000 to 27k. You want stuff. you pay me price.

But still. Michael needed to make this all public. There are things we discussed that cant be public. I get that . Ut that was over Chinese politics of the suppliers.

I've just had my business communications and my PM to him showing the shape of my batteries with no reply yet from Michael nothing more. There's enough people bitching to him here, via PM, email, phone, etc. that me adding to it won't help the situation.

If the boxes are beat up or it looks like there are problems like this, refuse delivery. If the boxes appear to be ok, I would still open at least a couple of them to make sure the cells are in good shape.
Off hand I am not sure if your cells are coming from this supplier or not, as I have ordered CATL 271ah cells from a couple of suppliers. All of these problem ones that I have looked up are from the same supplier though, and I know the other one I ordered 271ah cells from packages all cells very well.

My tracking number with UPS for CATL cells just went live from La Mirada, CA, last night. I've been debating whether to accept or refuse delivery if the boxes showed signs of damage. Looking back through the posts, I found this message from Michael recommending refusal.

Does anyone know the consequences of accepting damaged boxes, rather than refusal? My order is for just 4 cells, so I should have a single box.

Also, my payment was Friends and Family through PayPal, if that matters.

I would be worried about refusal making it more difficult for you, since you dont have the boxes anymore and no proof of damage.

Where do they go when you refuse them? Does UPS send them back to original shipper? That wouldn't be fun either because then the supplier has the cells and your money!

I just went live too. 1 box, 4 cells. I paid back in February. My CC company told me it's too late, but if they show up damaged, I can file a claim.

Being in So cal my cells will arrive today. I've left ups with instructions to carefully place the package in the dirt planter (in the event they're leaking). I'll have pictures and video up tonight if the grand opening.

I ordered 16x cells a few weeks ago from Michael, and upon receiving the tracking number, I notice it says I have 6 boxes coming, which means they most likely packaged 4 boxes with 3 cells, and 2 boxes with 2 cells. This is exactly how I received my last order back in April, which *fingers crossed* means these are either coming from a different supplier or they got their act together. Putting more than 3 to a box is just too many for sure.

We'll see whenever they show up.

If you refuse them, they were never delivered. So as noted earlier (or perhaps in the other thread), you may have an easier recourse with the credit card company or paypal for non receipt of goods. Once you accept them, then you have to deal with the seller, as it is the seller/shipper who has to file a damage claim.

Make sure you are there when the delivery shows up! I was in the shop when I heard my Ring at the door and UPS left my "Signature Required" package at the door without a signature and they were gone without any opportunity to reject the shipment. All I had to do was walk up the steps to the front door, they were gone before I got there so I'm sure the driver saw the condition of the package and high tailed it out of there so I couldn't refuse it.

I ordered 8x 150ah cells thru Caro and they arrived well packaged and no damage at all. It was 4 cells per box and used the 280ah size foam packing to pack them as pairs with a pc of cardboard to stop them rubbing on each other.

At the same time I ordered 8x 280's from Exliporc and they came in 4 boxes packed 2 per and the foam kept the cells apart. All cells were flat and no dents. Both orders arrived at the same time so they must have been on the same boat. One of the Exliporc boxes did come a week later and I'm missing a BMS (only got one) so I still have that to resolve.

I found Caro to be slow to respond. It must be a side hustle for him selling batteries.

And what size were the cells?? I think there 4 different sizes... 271,280, 302 and 310 and not sure if all sizes have been placed with the same supplier or perhaps different ones as has been hinted so knowing sizes may help work out who is badly packaging? So far I think it is the 271 ones that have the problem? I am waiting on 8 x 310ah but in the UK...paid 27th May, tracking 8th July. delivery by DPD but at moment tracking number coming back as "unknown"

Just that the last few weeks have been a bitch but ......haven't even been able to open any emails for any of my four accounts in days in spite of sleeping 5 to 6 hours a night. But, everything will be taken care of asap given what is on my plate. The only time I have had to do anything but deal with what I am dealing with was to see my new 3 month old granddaughter for the first time.....managed 2 hours for that.
I hate not being able to get to this stuff.....this has been worse than being in the hospital like I was in December. But I have taken care of everyone for the past year and will take care of everything going forward as soon as possible

I, too, ordered CATL 310's. Mine are probably two days away from delivery. I'll report back as soon they arrive.
