For sale is an open box Greensun branded Deye SUN-8K-SG01LP1-US Hybrid Inverter (US Version). I imported it last fall but have decided to go another path for my install. The box was opened to examine content but the unit itself wasn't removed from the packaging. Hence its unused and new. For shipping within USA only.

I'm getting PMs that these units were priced north or south of $2000 so why this price? So here's the long story short -
I believe that this may be the pricing when these units were easily available during 2020 and even during the beginning of the 2021. By the time I started looking for it during last fall, the exclusive distributorship rules (who else ?) were being strictly enforced. I must have contacted at least 20 suppliers on Alibaba and no one had availability or willingness to ship to US. I found one supplier who agreed if I also bought batteries. The cost of DDP (delivered duty paid) for this unit to me was in mid 3000 not counting the credit card feed fees alibaba charges. Happy to share my invoice with the buyer. I'm basically trying to recover my costs. Hope this helps. Thanks !

Yeah, if you imported it before 2020 you could get it for just over $2k. I imported mine mid-2020 and it has a $1k duty slapped on it. Then the base price went up dramatically after that too. They are $4k new to get now.

The current Section 301 tariff applicable to inverters coming from China is 14.75% (there's an annual reduction of 0.25% per year for 4 years). Before that, the tariff was 30%. Alibaba's current price (average) for one Deye "SUN-8K-SG01LP1-US" is $1,450 + 213.875 tariff = $1,663.87 plus $500 s&h = $2,163.88

A reasonable price for this 8k split phase hybrid inverter should be $2,163.88 minus 7.57% (open box discount) = $2,000.00 TOTAL PRICE

Let me be clear with this, based on my research, Alibaba's sales reps won't sell you the one branded Deye. However, they will sell you allegedly the same inverter with different brands on it. Example: Megarevo, Sunpal and Greensun. (See attachments.) Do the reasearch to confirm it's exactly the same Deye inverter with same capabilities. In my case, as up today I'm leaning toward the Sol-Ark 12k or 15k based on warranty reasons and customer support.

If you want to be troll then be my guest. Are Megarevo and Sunpal manufactured by Deye ? Have you cared to open up their manuals and litreature and compared it with Deye’s ? Please dont waste other’s and my time with your stupidity. The price I have posted for the unit is what I want as a seller. You feel its 50% or 25% then use your research and buy what you want.

I should add that the unit is manufactured by Deye. For bulk customers they put any logo. The unit is not mafufactured by Greensun.

When mine was imported they wouldn’t accept the original price as the real price and did the tariff based on it costing $3k. I should have fought it but really didn’t feel up to it.

Still $1,000 less of the selling price. People need to understand that tariffs are not permanent and change overtime. Now 14.75%, next year 14.50% and so forth but half of the 30% tariff imposed in Trump's presidency.

So I’ve asked a few people I know who import and resell them right now, and $3700 is the going rate for new delivered in the US - fwiw to the thread originator.

For resale with markup yes but if you want to import yourself is definite NO.

Megarevo isn't a Deye. You can search threads here and realize they definitely are not Deye. I have no idea who manufactures the Sunpal, but the model numbers suggest Sunpal and Megarevo are the same manufacturer.

I haven't heard of anyone buying a US split phase Deye for anything under $3k after Sol-Ark laid down the law.
