Sooo, I did my MCU update. Everything went smoothly. No other updates I could see to be done at least on my 6000ex. Basically my leds would flicker a lot when solar was available, specially under a lot of watts so I decided to do the updated. Somebody else pointed out that the new transition...
For any person interested, finally managed to get all batteries showing the correct soc on the 6000xp. Doing a fw update on all the LLs v2 batteries resolved the problem.
I agree totally with your last statement. Inverters are advancing dramatically every year. Having something that last at least 5 years, then re-sell and get a newer model has been my plan. I had an eg4 6000ex and decided to upgrade to two 6000xps. The difference is night to day. I could have...
Hello, Im in PR too.Currently with two 6000xps in parallel. Not interested in "Medicion Neta". Running in Batts and Solar. Bought one from SS and another from Current Conected. Look into the page "SendtoPR". Yo can have your stuff shipped from SS to them and then they will quoute you from FL to...
Hello, I'm in PR too. Currently running two 6000xps in parallel. Did the whole system myself. I would use IronRidge for installing the panels. The are quite "sturdier" than Unirac in my opinion.
LFP from SS are guaranteed for more than 6000 cycles which comes close to 17 years cycling them up to 20% DOD. Almost every manufacturer of LFP is close to this life expectancy or even more. If I spend thousands of dollars on batteries which are guaranteed for more than 17 years of continuous...
I have two 6000xps. One has 16 Philadelphia Solar 445 watts, 8 on each MPPT. 310 / 330v @ 11.5amps equals 3500 watts per MPPT. On rainy days when the sun comes out of a cloud it would get almost to 4000 watts per MPPT. No problems at all. My second 6000xp only has 3 545 watts Boviett Solar...
Hey guys, sorry for the delay. The last 22 fault detected, I could hear what I can describe as (the sound of a short). I was grabbing my head thinking my inverter was toast. I started to realize that it started to fault when it was raining hard. I remebered I had an underground line for some...
Hello,
I'm starting this thread due to seeing a lot of new information for the eg4 6500, but not so much for the 6000ex. Specifically for the new FW updates concerning led flickering fixes. I managed to successfully update the Main CPU and it is showing 63.11 version on the inverter. My...
You select Luxpower and then under settings add your dongle information. You can add multiple dongles and monitor the system as a whole or individually.
I just bought a 6000xp and in the process of wiring and installing. Definitely, these kind of random errors are not making me feel confident. If any resolution is found please advise for us starting with this inverter.
I already have a 6000xp (very happy with it so far) and bought another one subscribing to the upgrade program and exchanging an old 6000ex to parallel both 6000xps. I do not need grid sell back.
I got to say EG4 has stepped up even on their off grid game inverters. These new features are making the 6000xp unbeatable. So glad my parallel setup is getting improvements as time goes by. Just downloaded the last part of the FW. We'll see if it will remain stable amd without bugs
Being an owner of a 6000ex. I would recommend to anyone with a 6500/6000 to get Solar Assistant to manage remotely the inverter and also have SA do the transfer between SBU / SUB during nights or low battery situations. It has work for me flawlessly for the past year. Not to mention the...
I have two 6000XPs in parallel. Almost 15 months working. Never had en issue with eps overload. 10.6KW of solar. 6 Eg4LLs. No grid conected for the most part. Hoping thia get resolved for you guys.
There is another new update from the previous release on feb 8th for the 6000ex. Also, now they have an MCU folder update too which was not posted on the feb 8th release. Did them both yesterday and at least I saw 80/90% improvement on flickering when solar charging / solar is feeding the loads...
Forgot to add in my prevoius post I decided to add a Victron 150/35 to move some solar away from my 6000ex for the same reason (heat). Trying to not use the 6000s full SCC to its full power and using the victron to supplement. Currently the 6000ex is charging at 60amp and the victron at 20amps...
Tried looking at my profile and found that they included this toggle between the new settings page and the old style. New style does not have all settings. Put it in old style and all good again
Yes, I connected all the RJ cables that came with the LLs into a growatt hub. The main reason I used the growatt hub was because I could not get locally an RS 232 / 485 that did not had any filtering / circuitry inside and that would prevent it to work properly. Basically it has to be a raw hub...
What I did was use solar assistant to do the change over from sbu to sub base on state of charge. Then I wired a 240v grid feed to a 40amp wifi/servo breaker. The breaker can be programed to switch on and off base on scheduled times and also can be switch on/off using the mobile app. To me it...
Well, no 6500 for me but I'm currently running my house on a 6000ex. Apart from the original issues with close loop communication with the battery's communication cable (labeled wrong) and some minor light flickering (does not bother me that much) its been running for one year no issues. I'm...
At least my 6000XPs are set to "slope". They do change their velocity and ramp up depending on the load and PV production. Keep in mind that the fans for PV are different than the one for the inverter side. So, when PV production is high you would see the lower fan ramp up to full speed and the...
I do not see how to do it. There is only one folder for the 6000ex and only one app opens. I clicked the update tab and all went fine. The one i did was the InfinityMasterCPU. Not sure if the exe labeled as "hex2000" is the other one. It wont open on my laptop
Can you please state in order what should be the process for the FW update? When I did mine on December the video stated to only do the MCU. Now there are other files and from what I read and if the updates are not done in a sepcific order the screen may black-out.
2-6000XPs running 6 eg4LLs on battery lithium type (0), All showing information accurately. Saw somebody mention they should be on Lithium (1)?
@EG4TechSolutionsTeam
I would try putting them all in series and see if the issue goes away. At 10.62 for imp being that your parallel you are close to the hard limit of 25 amps isc. There may be cases were clouds go away and imidiate sunlight shines on the panels. Dependeing on the temperature you could easily reach...
The only way I could see all my batteries was using the hub on the link quoted. You need to set switches starting at address #2 and up. SA uses address #1 for inverter comunicaction amd will not read any battery set at the #1 address. You will be conecting 1 cable from each rj45 port to the...
If your using the inverter to read battery values you will only see the master battery. Also....SA only starts to work using address 2 and up. Since the inverter uses address 1 for comunication there is no way SA will read the Master Battery. This is one additional reason I decided to use the...
So basically what we are missing is for @SignatureSolarJames or sombody from Sig Solar to say what should we do in relation to the secondary CPU update.
Maybe the secondary CPU is the one responsable for managing / fixing the led flicker and we still cant update it
Basically I updated all the batteries to the newest firmware (LL-S). Even though updateding the oldest two of my five resolved the problem, I decided to update all of them to have all equal.
Hello,
I just went through the new upgrade program to exchange my 6000ex to a new 6000xp. FYI, came to find out later on that the shipping for people on board with this program starts in May 15th. I appreciate the program, but this delay certainly pushes back my project and was informed...
Well you got lucky. After I received my tracking, SS decided to go ahead and deleted. Afterwards told me there was a mistake and that shipping for mine was going to be in May. I decided to pull my old one and start the new build and now I have to revert back to get some solar until May.
Hello,
I installed an EG4 3000EHV inverter with an Eg4 LLV4 100 AMP battery, The system has been working in closed loop for some time. I've noticed that once its fully charged at around 56.2v.......it will float around 56v. Is this normal for this system? I have two 6000xps and they float...
So...the cable sent was labeled backwards. The eg4 label is attached to.the battery side. Managed to figuere out the dip switches with BMS Tools and have main battery on address #1. And second battery on address #2. Did the firmware update also. 3 days now without error 61. Thank you Ben. On...
Hello,
Currently building a new system with as EG4 6000EX. I will be using grid pass-through to power the house when no batteries are available and solar is not enough. My current panel which will feed the pass-through input has a N/G bond already. My understanding is I need to remove the N/G...
I guess from an electronics perspective I like the idea of having it working a little "colder". Efficiency should be better and longetivity too. AC consumption is around 600 watts when sun its on full blast and prooducing 8500 watts of PV.
I do agree that having it at 78 deg should work too.
Hello,
So I received my brand new 6000xp and connected it to my 5 LLs. All the batteries were fully charged as they were constantly used for about two years until a week and a half ago when I decided to upgrade from a Eg4 6000ex to an Eg4 6000xp.
When I use close loop, the state of charge...
I'm still wating an answer on if for the 6000ex there is only one update which is the MCU. I could only find one update under the 6000ex download tab.
Also.....finally after a good day of sun, and doing the MCU update the Led strobing continues.
I have a 6000ex and that is at around 37-38c deg ambient temps daily with a fan blowing air into it and a extractor taking out "heat" from the room it is at. Solar Assistant reports a temps of 53-55c when close to 5000watts of PV are coming in to charge and cover the loads. Air filters are...
Hello all,
I just bought an EG4 6000XP to substitute a 6000EX that went bad. Trying to get the correct size for the knockouts for all the connections to buy the cable glands. I know that there was another post with a picture of the sizes but apparently EG4 have changed them since then...
Appreciate the comment. I thought about the firmware updated. It was just very strange that somebody SS tech would suggest the display is not accurate or the same as the BMS info. I'm working on the assumption the display info feeds of the BMS therefore no different information should show. Then...
Currently all is fine. The wifi can be a little bit tricky to setup. But overall I am very please with the 6000xp. The only thing is I need the other one in order to satisfy my house demands. Wireway definetly an improvement. Seems my batteries drain slower due to less standby power consumption...
Hello,
I had an instance where the grid was connected, and a high surge happened. The inverter changed to "pass through" until the high demand finished. After a couple of minutes, it transitioned back to "off grid". "Passthrough" limit is 9000watts. I did not see sharing but the inverter...
Jared....I'm using CAN comms and are all set to Lux Protocol. In fact I change theRs485 also to lux just in case. I can see 500amps total power so all five are seen on the inverter.
I have an 6000ex, Bought it on October 2022 (Black connector). I did an firmware updated which removed the error 61 fault. When PV is charging / supplying to the loads, my leds do "flcker". The higher the PV charge / wattage is it becomes more visible.
Good morning, my sistem has been in working order for about 30 days. Besides some trouble at first with comunications between my EG4 LLS all has been flawless.
Since yesterday system started to shut down and throw Fault 22. First time it happened it restarted itself again and everything went...
Would it be a safe assumption that both batteries need to be at the same voltage before putting them in parallel? I think I saw a video on youtube which mentioned that additionally of getting the batteries they also acquired a SS battery charger which would charge the batteries to the same...
Progressive Dynamics PD52V 5200 Series Automatic Transfer Relay 240 VAC 50 A
There is a 120v 30amp version. They are used on RVs. The good thing about them is they have an interlock between them that prevents that both contactors can be activated at the same time.
Well. I have my EG4 6000 ready and I'm wafting for my LLs v2 to arrive. Hopefully everything goes smoothly. Thank you for sharing. Any advice for anybody like myself who is installing basically the same system?
@BenFromSignatureSolar I'm having a somewhat related issue with a 6000ex. I have 3 LLs v2 and on eg4 mode they are at a fixed 50amp max charging until they reach 90%. After that it lowers the charge to 10amps.
Thanks for the reply. Some additional info. The first time it happened it was during the day batteries were fully charged and the second time during the night at around 50% SOC. During the last time (night) load was at around 1500watts.
I have a wifi controlled breaker on the grid feed. I have triggered it when I have thought would not get through the night. Also I forgotten that I had turn it on and has remain on for a couple of days. No issues. But maybe it is something that would take some more time to happen with it...
Hello, what happened to all the available settings that you could access through the EG4 monitor app (android)? Qent to make some changes and found out the majority of the settings were removed.
I did run closed loop for 6 months. Had some drifting SOC from my bat rack. Decided to keep them on voltage control since then. No issues on any of those. I have 16 panels 440 watts (7,040 total watts) on the main inverter (8 on each mppt) and 8 540watts panels on the slave (mppt-1) 4,400watts...
Hey @Markus_SignatureSolar, Ben mentioned on previous posts that for LLs Bulk 56.2 / Float 54.0. From my understanding LLs and Lifepower cells are the same. Does this mean that LLs should be set for 58.4 Bulk on user mode?
I do too. I get full charge everyday. Mu rack consist of 6LLs bought at diffrent times. One (newest one) of them using SOC always charged until 99 / 98% and it kept bugging me. That was my supposed drift lol. Using voltage it reaches 100%. Did try moving the modulea to diffrent spots on the rack...
I think EG4 should labeled their FW updates better. It would be better to track the latest FW from previous ones. At least on the 6000ex I cannot see the FW update version I did on the screen. The dates on some of the files I see on the current folder seem to be recent. I'll try to do it today...
Charging is on "only solar". No grid input. I have 6200 watts of panels. Sunny Day. I had it on "user" before on a max rate of charge of 70amps / approx 26amps each. 56.2 bulk 54.2 float. Works good but wanted to try close loop.
Im not trying to say my experiences did. Im trying to share my experiences for you guys having issues to compare setups and maybe see if it shares some light.
