Hello,
I'm starting this thread due to seeing a lot of new information for the eg4 6500, but not so much for the 6000ex. Specifically for the new FW updates concerning led flickering fixes. I managed to successfully update the Main CPU and it is showing 63.11 version on the inverter. My secondary CPU is showing version 61.04. There is currently only one file to update for the 6000ex on the eg4 site. I know for the 6500s there are two files to upgrade. Is there only one file for the 6000ex due to the differences in hardware / type of configuration? My led "flickering" is still happening specially on high PV Charging and I'm not sure if it because I could not do the FW update completely on both CPUs due to the missing file? Was it an oversight from SS to upload the secondary file to upgrade the secondary CPU? @signaturesolarHelpUs @SignatureSolarJames @SignatureSolarJarrett @BenFromSignatureSolar

I think 61 04 may be the newest version...my slaves are both 61 04 but I can't get my host to update and it is still showing 61 03 The update I tried did something. My battery voltage has never read above 54 volts and after the updates it went to 56.2, now it's back down to the old 54 reading.

Mine has always reached 56.2 bulk and 54.8 float as set on the "user" mode. But the led flickering sill continues badly when solar charging is high.

akitawpo Just got an email ansered from SS.....they said the eg4 6000 firmware we updated on Friday was not the new version....I downloaded the new version, I hope, but now I can not get the update to work. It worked Friday for all three inverters, no luck tonight. CRAP!

Just gong by what they told me tonight...that they did not get the new firmware updated until today...spent 45 more minutes updating. When the sun comes back up tomorrow (if it does) we will see how the flicker goes.

Fair enough, keep us posted!

Sadly, there is NOTHING to tell us what is different in the version supposedly uploaded yesterday from what was made available on 2/10/23. This morning I downloaded (AGAIN) whatever is available for the 6000's. SAME version number, same exact file size, and NO change log. I guess we will be waiting for a report from Scott.

That is what I saw too. I did the update on feb/10.

According to Ben from SS, the Firmware from 2/10 is exactly the same as 2/13. Apparently they just deleted 1 file from the folder which was not needed, to clean it up. I had not yet installed either version. Based upon the report from Scott today in the 6500/6000 firmware thread, it did NOT seem to fix his fluctuations.
Tagging Ben here so he can see this thread, which he was not aware of. @BenFromSignatureSolar

did the firmware update cable come with your 6000ex units? or was it sent separately?
I tried to update after installing the driver in Device Manager, but it says "can not open serial port". I'm using a couple of cables (one is yellow, one is black) which either came with the 6000ex or the lifepower4 batteries

You will need a different cable from SS.....may need to install drivers also...I did for my windows 10 desktop

Still no success with the latest new firmware for our 6000ex?

I saw two days ago that they added a MCU folder updated for the 6000ex. It was not there when SS first released the firmware updated on feb 8th. The firmware folder update 63.11 seems the same.

Not sure how will the mcu updated folder showing now will improve the operation @BenFromSignatureSolar

all, I'm confused with the mixing of 6500ex and 6000ex postings.
For our 6000ex, is there a black vs grey terminal bonding differences? If so, what terminal are people referring to?
Also, it looks like they split the firmware to 63.13 for House/Cabin and 63.11 for RV/mobile applications

There is another new update from the previous release on feb 8th for the 6000ex. Also, now they have an MCU folder update too which was not posted on the feb 8th release. Did them both yesterday and at least I saw 80/90% improvement on flickering when solar charging / solar is feeding the loads. Some quick lights dimming still happening when large loads come in service, to be honest I would expect that. I'm still testing to see. When using eg4 charging profiles the battery SOC is still out of sync.
