If anyone is interested I have just had all 18 panels replaced by the installer. It has just transpired that not only did I have a voltage issue my annual production total was down by 1/3 to what I was originally quoted, just over 2100kw shy. Apparently the panel manufacturer, Eurener, have...
Hi. I have a Growatt 500SPH inverter with a 6.5kw Growatt battery. In November last year I had 2 strings of 6 and 12 x 430W panels replaced under warranty. I have started to notice something odd these past 2 days, which have been very sunny. When I check the Growatt app to see how much power I'm...
Load consumption is what I’d be importing if the solar wasn’t producing anything and the battery had run down, so it’s all connected in one way or another. Nonetheless those clamps calculate readings, so it’s quite possible the clamp is faulty.
Many thanks for your reply. I've looked and I cannot see any real world amp readings, however my voltage readings 10mins ago was 251v on 1st string and 124v on the troublesome 2nd string. A moment later it went below 120v and shut of the 2nd string, 5 mins later it went back up to 150v to start...
With the little I have learnt I agree. Growatt suggest adding another panel to the string, which unfortunately cannot be done. The installers will have to fit 6 new panels at a higher voltage, would I be correct in assuming this? MCS has already been informed of my issue.
Hi all. The past 2 days my Shinephone app for my 7.4kW home Growatt solar system keeps giving me a network timeout message. I checked the dongle on the inverter and it is flashing blue, which indicates it is connected to the network, yet the timeout message keeps showing and I cannot see any...
One thing I neglected to mention was the voltage test was a VOC test on each individual panel, which all came out at 24v. If they were the panels shown on the data sheet above that would be bad enough, however they cannot be the panels that were installed.
Thanks for that. The installation report was produced by the Easy PV program, I would have assumed it would have red flagged the inputs? Or maybe not...
Load consumption shouldn’t be increasing when solar production goes up. For example, if my property is using 0.4kwph when the sun comes out it increases to 1kwph, but the property is not demanding any more than when it was using 0.4kwph. So why would that be?
As you can see with the screenshot my load consumption goes up and down in line with solar production from 9.20am, which I've been having for the past couple of days. Very unusual.
Doesn't work for me. It also doesnt work if I turn off wifi and rely on my 4G network. It's very up and down these past 2 weeks, one minute it's fine next it's not. I also have a tablet with the app and it does exactly the same. Is there a different app I can use with Growatt equipment?
Thanks for the reply. Given the massive interest and installation of solar the past year (and continuing) it wouldn't surprise me that their servers may be overloaded, it makes sense. At least I know there's nothing wrong at my end ?
Hi. I had installed last November a Growatt SPH5000 inverter, a Growatt 6.5kw battery and 18 Eurener 28v 410w panels, 2 strings of 12 and 6. I encountered a problem last week when I noticed spiking from lunchtime to sunset, these were hot cloudless days. I assumed it was too much voltage coming...
Hi. Attached are data sheets for a Growatt SPH5000 inverter and for a Eurener solar panel, these were installed at my property in November. I have 2 strings of 12 and 6 panels. Im currently in dispute with the installers through NAPIT initially due to a voltage problem on the 2nd string of 6...
I do have another south facing roof, However, its lower and prone to shading from a tree.
From the very beginning of this rather sorry affair I've wanted those 6 panels replaced. You'd think that's easy, right? But trying to deal with a company that has very poor communication and believe they...
For any that are interested I spoke to Growatt who informed me I need a new inverter replaced under warranty. They wouldn't elaborate on what caused the issue, however they did say it was a "battery soft start" problem. Not good for a 4 month old inverter.
Hi. I have a Growatt SPH5000 with 2 strings of over panels. The 1st string is 6 panels of 410w facing south and the 2nd string is 12 panels of 410w facing West. These panels are made by Eurener (see pic). The voltage of these panels are 28v, however under load they're 23.46v. The Growatt data...
Hi. I had a solar system installed in November, everything has been working great, been really happy with it. I have a 5kw Growatt inverter with a 6.5kw Growatt battery. For the past 2 days the battery has been "stuck" on 24% charge, it doesnt want to discharge or charge when it was sunny, I...
The 1st string of 12 is on a roof facing west, the 2nd string of 6 is on a roof facing south. There is not enough space on the south facing roof to add another panel.
My ideal scenario would be to replace the 2nd string with higher voltage panels, however my concern is the amp parameter of the...
