Well I did a capacity test and got 247Ah before my inverter shut down for low voltage but the LVP never shut off the battery.
I fully charged overnight and then left my MPPT to absorb at 13.8V and the cells were much more balanced. Going to try and uo it to 14.2 today.
Oddly enough with one...
I have a new Chins LFP battery that needs the cells top balanced. The BMS does have cell balancing but is either very slow or isn’t working.
My first charge hit OVP on cell 1 at 3.65 while the other were at 3.45ish
Let it sit overnight and the cells range from 3.574 to 3.411.
BMS won’t start...
No joke, and it’s heated…I’m going to try and get the cells balanced and use my smart shunt to run a capacity test before I make my decision but that’s hard to beat
Ok, right now my only chargers are my MPPT and the RV converter. I plan to upgrade to a Multiplus sometime this year but for now that isn’t an option.
The converter sends it into OVP much quicker than the MPPT so maybe I will play with the settings on it to try and get them balanced.
This is my first LFP battery, it’s for my RV, and I chose the Chins 250Ah Smart Heated battery.
I hooked it up today and the app states that it has a max capacity of 220Ah. I started charging it and when the app hits 220Ah it shows 100% and stops increasing total stated Ah but it is still...
I am assuming they got that number from the maximum discharge/charge rate of your battery bank (18x 100A BMS). You will never actually be pulling that many amps though (that's close to 100kW!!!) so maybe ask them where/how they came up with that number. Seems crazy
Plenty of options from Magnum and Victron in the 2000w range…didn’t mention what power you were looking for, the lower power ones almost always come with outlets instead but Victron has some good lower power options with terminals but they are more expensive…you generally get what you pay for
You can add the VE.Direct Bluetooth dongle to the Smart Shunt for an additional $50 and relocate the BT signal and get a very solid range. Or just get the BMV-712
I currently have a Victron 24V Multiplus II 3000va 2x120V and am considering adding an additional unit in parallel. I have read the manual and understand everything about how to actually setup the inverters to work this way, as well as what I need to do to properly connect the batteries, but I...
I just saw a short video from Battleborn stating they use cylindrical cells vs prismatic cells. The benefit being they can be fully discharged 100% without affecting life of their batteries. They say prismatic cells can advertise 2000 cycles at 80% discharge but in reality is closer to 900...
