  • Post in thread: Flexible busbars from AliExpress

I'm surprised to find there is a no hole option. That way, you could put in the right size hole for you needs instead of using a one size fits many, approach. We all have drills and drill bits. A lot less to warehouse and make.
  • Post in thread: JB Weld versus Loctite for grubscrews

So many people should start with a torque wrench. So many male ego's would be damaged if they did. I do not know since I was there, but I suspect, 99% were stripped because of ignorance, not poor manufacturing. As I mentioned earlier, I have not read all the pages, just about half.

And now it is all cleared up.

    Yeah, you are correct.
  • Post in thread: Flexible busbars from AliExpress

Drilling anything has issues but nothing that is too difficult to overcome. If I was a manufacturer, I certainly would sell them. A few less to stock and less machining. Sell them at the same price and you'll get more profit too.
  • Post in thread: BATTERY SELLERS - THE GOOD, BAD, UGLY -- or Jenny (DOCAN) so far so good ...

Wait for China or wait for Houston. Either way, you will have to wait. If you don't need them, I guess it does not matter. I had the same issue when I ordered my set. I wanted to pay for them to 'lock down' the price and they were more than happy to take my money. To be fair, I was happy to...
  • Post in thread: CATL LF280 280Ah from DOCAN

Sorry, I am the wrong person to ask the differences. They are blue. They are all about the same size. Two sets have welded studs, the other is a threaded hole. All three sets were purchased and I'm happy with the 3 transactions. The Eve cells had a good QR code. The CATL, I do not know yet...
  • Post in thread: 320ah Cells Ordered.

I find it odd that a buyer does not shop around. When does that ever happen? Even when I go shopping for food, I look at labels and prices. Really? you believe the buyer has no idea what a fair price is? I get that they do not know what the manufacturing price is, but if the buyer does not...
  • Post in thread: Cleaning the terminals after JB Welding studs in

Doesn't the stud stop turning once it bottoms out? If that is the case, why need to mark it? When I glued mine in, I turned them in by hand and once they bottomed out, just a tad bit tighter. It's not that difficult and it sure seems like people over think this. You only need a small bit of...

I would suggest you find someone nice to find out how deep their holes are.
  • Post in thread: It appears DALY did a firmware upgrade to their Smart BMS . Showing V 1.1.4

Not too confusing to me. I just looked at mine and looked at my options. I picked single cell since it seemed to fit my set up. You could just press all the options and see what goes on. I doubt if anything will get screwed up.

All test below? That seems odd. Anything is possible including the test equipment.
  • Post in thread: Renogy 3000W inverter...???

So far, the saga is that I have spent almost $1000 to get a good working Renogy inverter before I go camping. I expect to get my money back on all of it, but you would think the person that pulling the 3000w inverter off the shelf, would think that the customer would not accept the 2000w they...
  • Post in thread: Lifepo4 for 350 amp?

It's what companies do. They buy a product and sell it at a profit. That supports the staff and the service that they provide. I doubt if JBD has a support staff if there are any problems. We all should look at ourselves and support the local community. At least the good ones. I get if you are...
  • Post in thread: JB Weld versus Loctite for grubscrews

I do not think I want to glue the busbars/lugs to the contact pads. I have no issues with that type of epoxy securing the studs, but that's about it.
  • Post in thread: Charging RV with inverter running

That is what I was thinking but I have yet to read that. In theory, the electrons that go in/out of the inverter would know where they go back to, as well as the source power. So, I think it would work. I do know that you cannot share the hot leads. The frequency patterns must match.
  • Post in thread: 320ah Cells Ordered.

We all have opinions and can build a strong foundation to support them. I beg to differ. You will not find a lot of pages on the internet to support a $50 price. You will on Aliexpress, but the last time I checked, Aliexpress is not the only one on the internet. If it indeed took you a month...
  • Post in thread: Renogy DC DC Charger w/ MPPT

Is it possible your charging wire is too small causing a huge voltage drop. That signal certainly could trigger the DCC50S to limit the current to 6A. Tricking the DCC50S not to be too concerned about that voltage input may not be a good thing. What is the supply voltage when it is charging at...
  • Post in thread: Charging RV with inverter running

I did a search and I did not find the exact information I am looking for. I have a 50A 5th wheel. I have an auto transfer switch and the inverter will be powering one leg of the 50A circuit. The other leg is not being used. The leg not being used supplies power to the second A/C, 100A...

There are people that sell Lifepo4 batteries but not all of them are legitimate. Any recommendations?
  • Post in thread: BATTERY SELLERS - THE GOOD, BAD, UGLY -- or Jenny (DOCAN) so far so good ...

Aliexpress is not Alibaba which is not Docan either. You can buy a lot of stuff in Oregon and I do know many people that do. They have no sales tax. If you come to Washington State, the sales tax is 6.5%. Every county and city adds to that amount. In the end, you are going to pay around 10% or...
  • Post in thread: Lifepo4 for 350 amp?

Do as you wish, but if you have not purchased a Daly, there are cheaper/better BMS's out there.
  • Post in thread: Charging RV with inverter running

Basically, I need to know if I run one leg with an inverter can I run the other leg on either shore power or a small generator at the same time. The only thing in common would be the neutral leg. Can the neutral leg accept the AC signal from the generator and inverter at the same timing. The...
  • Post in thread: BATTERY SELLERS - THE GOOD, BAD, UGLY -- or Jenny (DOCAN) so far so good ...

But Docan gave me all the numbers before I even when to the PayPal page. Once I pay for the transaction, I have never got any additional fees. It's very clear how much it will be to get those cells to my door. I do not get what you are saying.
  • Post in thread: BATTERY SELLERS - THE GOOD, BAD, UGLY -- or Jenny (DOCAN) so far so good ...

I am on my third order with Daisy@Docan. The last two purchases were EVE 304ah but she indicated that there are no EVE batteries to be had. They had CATL 302 batteries so I elected to get those. Slightly more than $600 with shipping and the transaction went through PayPal. I expect the same...

  • Post in thread: Our NEW GO-TO LiFePO4 vendor...09.20.21

They were pretty firm. You know how it is. You can get them from China, pay for more shipping, and wait for months. She says they had 280ah in the US but no 304ah. I believe I paid $625 for 4 delivered. None of the sellers were willing to negotiate much and they were all within a few dollars...
  • Post in thread: Battery(300) Design Open Sourced

Ok, let me spell this out more clear. Is there any people/companies that are recommended to print out this battery box that is the topic of this tread. I used Daisy at Docan and I'm happy with the service but I do not think she prints battery boxes.
