So I have tinkered with this set up in the past. I have one 6500ex and at that time had one battery. After getting it all assembled I ran grid power to it and was tripping the GFI's in the garage and outside, with God knows what issues. I connected it with a extension cord in the house and it...
I called signature solar and they said its a straight through cable. (Don't quote me on that). I will make one and if it works great, if not it's back to the drawing bord
Update for all who are interested.
First of all here is a photo of all the wires
Everything is correctly attached secure and torqued to spec. The cables will get cleaned up and made to look nicer. There is no problem with the build everything is working correctly and like it is supposed to...
hey yall. so Will has that video on split phase ac-power box from his 2 inverters.
this one to be exact
https://www.mobile-solarpower.com/48v-complete-system-blueprint.html
can someone explain how to run the same thing but using "one"..... 1.... only ( one ) inverter I know he has a double...
Ah the amperage I need to look at it's set ad default I think to 60. I need to snoop that around and set it lower I guess ...good info I will ctrl and check into that.
Hey people need help I recently assembled the eg4 6500EX and I need info on why the PV is not giving any input.. I give it about 250voc PV. I will be connecting it to a larger array but I wanted to just run through the system set up. Here are some picks to help you see..
The system turns on and...
Has to be later today I direct message you if you want to look at it. The screen is normal I get battery communication and it shows ac input charging battery, in standby then just popps the gfir outlet braker. Someone mentioned amps are to high , inverter wants 30amp. So I will turn that down...
I've seen this done with busbars and with out. Does it have any impact on life or function of the battery? This seams to be the most minimal setup.
Will this work good? Why, and why not? thanks
Yep that thing is gone have no idea how or why. But we will figure it out.. I might make a YouTube video covering everything. Haven't made a video in years but haven't found a video with needed info ether.
I used a power strip with a serge protector going to a gfi outlet. It ran for like 5 min charging the battery no problem. Then it killed the powerstrip. I used another stronger one and it kept tripping it and the gfi plug. I decided not to burn down the house and called my uncle a licensed...
Hey so need some assistance with installation of a panel and load distribution.
https://www.mobile-solarpower.com/48v-complete-system-blueprint.html
This page here above, I am using only one inverter and I want to run a panel for loads. Do I need to use a double breaker on the right side of...
Need info on doing a 48v off grid system. I got the eg4 6500EX and the eg4 life power battery. Also got Solarever 445W Split-Cell Mono Solar Panels 445w x6.
Can someone point me into what I need to run this off grid without shorting anything or destroying it. I plan to keep it as backup if...
Moring ya'll. here is the situation..
The wonderful tech support at signature solar is about as good as my 3 year old with a 4 stroke lawn mower motor.
the eg4 6500 ex 48v inverter needs to have a way to draw power from the grid. The unit has a AC input and I'm trying to figure out the best...
Looks like the article is for liquid cells the battery I'm using is lithium iron phosphate. So there is no issue of it being used sideways. Or am I missing something.?
So you're saying if I get a small box with 4-6 lugs and a single bus I can just do the same type of connecting putting my loads downstream from the "main" braker that inverter is coming into?
So who has the answers on this. I'm running the EG4 6500EX with the EG4 server rack battery if I turn off the entire system battery and all do I need to precharge the inverter capacitors befor I turn it all on again? I don't plan to run the system 24-7 I want to be able to turn it on and off.
Yes I figured as much. Is there a way to check current input. I had it running for several hours and looks like the SOC indicator didn't move. Should I keep it plugged in overnight?
Yes the click is contentious. The display shows power coming in from utility also the picture the 3 terminals on the left of the hand the not connected ones are the AC input. So it is getting power it's just when I plug in it clicks .here is my ac load box from the inverter to loads
Ok good to know I didn't think to check that. Also the system I have is with an old firmware. Is it needed to be updated or can I use it as is. I know several months back signature solar was selling kits for updating the system
so is using a 2 gage wire better will it eliminate the need for fuse? or is it worth it. signature solar has its server rack connecting each battery to a buss with 6awg and it seams fine. that what I wanted to run, is that not ok?
Yep everything works good just the ac input... I used 6awg for output with a 20 amp braker it's enough for my loads. So do I use a 4awg with a braker for utility input? Why can't i just directly plug in? Something I'm not getting...
Here is the pick if you look at the USB plugs they are the only ones for power no straight connection. I want to take the power out of usb ports directly into the charge controller then send it to battery.
