so is using a 2 gage wire better will it eliminate the need for fuse? or is it worth it. signature solar has its server rack connecting each battery to a buss with 6awg and it seams fine. that what I wanted to run, is that not ok?
Yep everything works good just the ac input... I used 6awg for output with a 20 amp braker it's enough for my loads. So do I use a 4awg with a braker for utility input? Why can't i just directly plug in? Something I'm not getting...
Here is the pick if you look at the USB plugs they are the only ones for power no straight connection. I want to take the power out of usb ports directly into the charge controller then send it to battery.
The cord is 3 feet should not be an issue at all.. the only thing I can thik of is I don't know but I'm having electrician come out and we will figure it out ... I'll update after that. If anyone is interested let me know.
I'm planing to set up 6 panel string and want more info on my plan.
I have 445w panels, about 11.5 amp, and 45 or so volt. My eg4 6500EX can handle 500 VOC so I'm planning just to connect them all. I will be connecting to a PV disconnect for safety. I want info on connecting and disconnecting...
I have the inverter to battery set up the communication looks like its for inverter and battery what I need is battery to battery jumper. I have the ex6500 inverter and eg4 lifepower4 batteries.
Hi everyone I wanted to discuss charging. I want to use the EG4 lifepod 48v 100Ah battery. These battery's are connected to the EG4 6500EX inverter with an option to connect to grid for using grid power input to top them off if needed on a low sun day.
Is using this set up ok, and will it work...
my thoughts exactly, I ran grid to top off but did not use any loads at that time. I have yet to try it with a generator. Do you know if that would do the same? I'm guessing it will, but I rather not kill my system with experimenting on it. I should just leave it along and use it.
Hey, here is the question, I want to run a 2nd battery or 2 battery set up. Here is the photo of how I want to do it
I'm running 2awg cable from the inverter to the battery directly, can I use 6awg wire to the busbars and 2awg from busbar to Inverter? Or can I just parallel the 2 battery...
What do you mean by fusing each battery? Are you saying that using 6awg will work but if it spikes without a fuse the wire will melt? I'm using the Nader DC Circuit Breaker | 60V 200Amp......... from main battery's to Inverter. Is this not sufficient?
It's a stand alone system it's not wired to any other panel. That panel is jumped to give both pols 120v. the 6awg supplies the panel from the ac output of the inverter over a 20amp braker and the rest of the loads have there own 20amp, and 2 15amp brakers. Power draw is from a battery bank...
So what I'm understanding is even if my entire system is connected and I kept it off for 3 months, turning on the battery and after a few seconds turning on the inverter won't work? And also PV disconnect flipped on at that time can destroy the eg4 6500EX?
Can a eg4 6500EX inverter sit directly on top of the eg4 lifepod battery. I plan to pack it all into a toolbox that will hold them both with all the wires and stuff. I would use it while the box is open also will have fans circulation in the box. Will this be ok?

can anyone please help out with a photo of the RS485 communication cable sold by signature solar for their eg4 battery...... this cable in particular...

I have a ton load of cat cable and crimping tools and what not and would just want...
Yes they are almost the same thing. I will need to try the connection with inverter output off and not putting it into USB mode. It's almost like there is no AC charge controller now that I think about it and I'd need one of the standalone units directly into the battery while disconnecting it...
who ells has run into this dilemma? AC power is charging the..... eg4 lifepower 48v battery....., the inverter is in standby mode it is working good for 3-5 min, then flashes error 61 for a bout 3 sec. then runs for another 2-3 min and trips the AC braker.
any info on that?
Hi everyone. Little background, I'm very familiar with AC power and DC power wires connections and pretty much know about electrical stuff. I've built solar power stations and yeah you get it I know stuff, maybe not as much but some. Anyway......
My current problems are as follows.
Is have 2...
Hi can you guys please help me with knowledgeable info and assistance with wiring so I don't blow up the neighborhood.
I am going to set up a eg4 6500EX inverter with one eg4 battery for now. I have the stuff needed to wire everything with disconnect switches and busbars.
What I need help with...
Hey my good people.
Here is what I'm faced with, in building 2 identical systems.
I am adding on extra battery to both of them, and need assistance in some wire setup.
Here are my system with a bussbar scenario and no bussbar.
The wires and network cables will be cut to fit properly and...
So I had it in output mode no load supplied just showed 120v output. No Solar input nothing plugged in. I took the 15awg extension cord and stuck it in direct to the grid, regular ac receptacle. Display showed ac input and started to click with the light flickering on the extension cord, one...
