Question on charge rates & generator load on Sol-Ark 12K?

My next task was to setup some AC coupled panels and this is recommend on the GEN input. Diagram 6 in the manual shows the Gen using Grid port with CTs and AC coupling on the Gen. As I don't have an autostart Gen and I only use the Gen in zero sun, probably best just have a disconnect switch...

Question on charge rates & generator load on Sol-Ark 12K?

Thanks very much for the help! I hadf chance to really play with it while being off work and it now works really well. It's a little delayed in how it throttles back up, though I'm fine with that. Cheers!

Question on charge rates & generator load on Sol-Ark 12K?

I’ll try switching it over to the Gen input and adding the CTs. I had it set up this way to use the smart load initially, though that’s becoming obsolete with all the affordable Smart Control devices allowing control at the specific devices rather than wiring every to a unique panel. Thanks.

Question on charge rates & generator load on Sol-Ark 12K?

Thanks for the reply Rich. I ran and checked, It was set at 6,800 watts, but it wasn't restricting it, unit was showing just over 7,000 watts on the grid input from the Gen. I think I remember when I tried to solve it previously I tried the CT sensors on the grid input also, but didn't change...

Question on charge rates & generator load on Sol-Ark 12K?

This is something I've struggled with for a while though it's only the winter months when I find I have not yet discovered a solution. We are in a full off-grid configuration and when the sun gets a little timid we use a 9500W Predator inverter generator (hooked up on both legs to the Sol-Arks...

    Sol-ark 12K - generator pass-through mode?

Can also use a SolarEdge SEAUTO-TX-5000 and then run any 120v item on the output from that, it will split the load to some degree from each leg into a single leg.

Opinions on LiFePO4 battery in a mostly hydroelectrically charged system

Correct. https://www.powerspout.com/ These are the guys. They have some local dealers, though I ordered from NZ. Their onsite calc is great, they will wind the motor based on your site evaluation. I ended up with a TRG config with a 200v loaded target.

Opinions on LiFePO4 battery in a mostly hydroelectrically charged system

My Main inverter is a Solark 8K, I picked up a second hand ginlong 3KW for the hydro as it has a 600v max input for the open circuit. So the ginlong will be AC coupled to the Solark.

Opinions on LiFePO4 battery in a mostly hydroelectrically charged system

By far the best resource for consumer hydro is the powerspout website.

Opinions on LiFePO4 battery in a mostly hydroelectrically charged system

I've got hydro planned as a future add on. My inverter has a smart load option. Once the battery hits a predetermined soc it Will divert power to an optional load panel, this could be a large hot water tank. Another issue with hydro is the open circuit voltage can be 3x the loaded voltage. Have...

Thermal Imaging - Alternatives to Flir

For that price range I think the seek thermal pro is the better buy. For some reason the micro-usb variant fluctuates to a lower $280 against the USBC/iPhone options. It has better sensor size and wider temp range than flir. Flir does have the better overlay software.

    China’s BLS batteries

I've been using 16* 200AH cells from BLS for over 6 months. We are completely off grid, therefore they are our sole day to day storage. I use them with a solark 8k inverter. They have been faultless so far. As I'm developing land I have a makeshift worshop and often use some high current tools...

BMS common port vs seperate port

This is an interesting discussion. I originally ordered the separate port and realized in the difference in charge/load values later. As I'm scaling up the batteries in the future, I ordered a new common port BMS 16s 48v 200ah and it just arrived. This thing is huge, 2x the size of previous BMS...
