I have spoken with a guy who connected a Sungold Power LF-PV 4-12KW to enphase, working right out of the box, but he has 400A service (dual 200A) utility supply and its a complex install. That is the only confirmed & stable case I have been able to verify. He sent me the wiring diagram, but...
nope, keeping things simple while I work this out.
Yes, I am aware that Smart Load can push power out over GEN (Page 76, https://eg4electronics.com/backend/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/EG4-18KPV-12LV-Manual-2.0.2.pdf)
Hey Marc,
My situation is very close to yours and I see very good suggestions in this thread. The only difference is that I already have Enchange batteries and 60Kwh of LiFePO4 coming next week. I'm leaning towards the Schneider and plan to use the 60 as my dump "buffer" since I want to be...
What's your setup?
Got tired of waiting, searching, reading, biting nails, so I bit the bullet and ordered a Schneider Conext XW PRO 6.8KW with the full PDP and insight for monitoring. Its going to get heavy! Shipper reporting 246lbs total. I'm going to throw a total of 61.44Kwh of (48v)...
I had the same trepidation as wildbillpdx, but after doing further research I called in & spoke with Jared at Solar Sovereign. After asking around for further details I was told that my order is coming from Signature Solar. Jared was spot on (it was a large order comprising of many 0s...
Enphase CTs are export rated, meaning that they are fast enough to do the job controlling flow. Technically its the system (as you stated by mentioning the inverter) that decides and takes action, whereas the CTs are simply the eddy current "sensors". I'm sure its not perfect, but its...
Yes, as long as there is a possibility of an interaction, but such detail is dependent on the facility you are dealing with and their regulatory requirements. I don't know the nuances and variations of each Power Supplier throughout the country, but for me if there is a path of physical contact...
They look like ISA slots not so much because of any relation to "ISA bus/protocols" but its because of a tried-and-tested physical connector standard for its time. Beefy contacts and a road tested ability are also a benefit. Notice how tiny the contact pints are on the PCI or PCI-E relative to...
I've emailed them in the past and got radio silence as well, however calling them is an entirely different experience. Going forward, I will be calling first, emailing last.
To add, I know someone who has done what I want to accomplish using a SunGold LF-PV 4-12KW instead [https://sungoldpower.com/collections/power-inverter/products/12kw-off-grid-solar-inverter-ul1741], but he is on-grid (vs. my goal for off-grid) and to be brief., SunGold vs. Schneider as far as...
I'm still learning the nuances of the 18K and its certainly behaving this way, but not by my intent. I want the GEN port to take charge not to produce any as the LOAD port is designed to do.
Reading your answers from other posts I understand you have several Orient Power OP-6x48100PWs & 2 x WX6848 on-line. Do you have any of Enphase's batteries on your rig? Did you tie on AC1 or AC2 on the XWs? I have experienced the 5 min scenario you have tested both with the 7+ and 8+...
I've seen power flow on my 18K via the GEN port in both ways while Smart Load was disabled. Now it does nothing. Contacts refuse to close. Trying to get support to help - its slow moving.
Updates recommended. That's the next step I did after unboxing & wiring up. "zero idea of what Load Management means" - good one!!! I second that observation :)
Only if it can talk to the battery BMS, depending on the manufacturer.
Otherwise, the only option I have done so far is a voltage sense, hoping to catch the voltage ramp up before hitting 100% SOC on the batts.
The voltage method makes me lose sleep.

Good point! - I follow you and will ultimately slap on additional XWs to stay above the 4 x 10T max output. Ideally prefer the XW to "append/add to" the existing loads as I (possibly) exceed the max amperage of all of the 10Ts. Initially as I began this idea (re: last sentence), referencing my...
Ah, the grid - my situation is not a physics driven matter but an overrestrictive policy adopted by the local power company - reasons (that's a discussion in itself). Kudos to them for doing a fine job around here since the boots on the ground are a hard working bunch - good fellas to speak...
Hello all,
Currently running an Enphase roll out based on a mix of IQ8+s & IQ8Ms with 4 x 10T Encharge, a smart switch and 4C combiner. Needless to say, this can stay alive off-grid for about 2 days (48hrs) on average, given very minimal sun during consecutive days. I need more power to...
I put the 100A as a kill switch - its a bolt-on and integrates nicely on the Smart Controller, since the XW will blow its 60A first if it needs to.
The setup is 100% off grid.
Enphase doesn't like "off-grid". They remind me each time I call :( It will run though and I do so continuously...
Thanks for the link to Todd - will check it out. You're exactly right - more energy! At 4 x 10T I have maxed out the system. Being off-grid, if it rains for 2 days straight, I'm hitting 10% on the 10T batts. I need to extend my run time - more energy. Enphase suggested splitting the...
Recently took possession of the 18K + 12 LL (v2) batts, running off-grid, AC coupled into an existing Enphase rollout with AC (4x10T) batteries.
18K settings follow the recommendations detailed in https://eg4electronics.com/backend/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/EG4-18KPV-12LV-Manual-2.0.2.pdf pages...
Do you mind detailing how you got the XW to AC couple? I have tried with the XW Pro with DC batts to Enphase with AC batts and the XW was growling at me. I wasn't very comfortable with the setup. Tried several options including...
