  • Post in thread: Moved from EG4 6500ex Inverters to Victron Multiplus II 48v/5000 Inverters

Hello, I just swapped my off-grid EG4 6500ex inverters over to two Victron Multiplus II 48v/5000kva inverters with a 450v/200A Solar Charger while utilizing 900ah of EG4 LifePower4 batteries with an EG4 Hub and two 300ah Big Battery Kong Elite batteries. I currently have 4 arrays (11.5kw)...
  • Post in thread: Upgraded to 4 Victron Multiplus II 48v/5000kva in 120v Split Phase w/5 Ton EasyStart

I have upgraded from 2 Multiplus II 48v/5000kva inverters to 4 inverters in 120v split phase. L1 has a Master and a Slave so does L2 have a Master and a Slave. I also installed a Micro-Air ASY-368-X72-Blue on my 5 Ton Trane 2 stage heat pump. Nameplate LRA is 152.9, which is what I was...
  • Post in thread: Residential Off-Grid 48v Growatt Solar Hybrid 30 Day Overview

Hi DIY'ers, I want to thank Signature Solar team for the past and continued support. I am currently running all my house 120-volt circuits 24/7 with a goal to start moving some 240v to the system soon. I also had a soft-start added to my Trane 3.5 ton condenser unit to prepare for moving it...
  • Post in thread: Residential Solar Offgrid

Greetings Solar Enthusiasts, Over the past two years my solar system has been evolving. My Solar System now consists of (2) EG4 6500ex Inverters in parallel and (9) EG4 LifePower Batteries and (36) 275w Trina / Aptos Solar Panels. I have two EMPs installed, one for solar panels and one for...
  • Post in thread: Moved from EG4 6500ex Inverters to Victron Multiplus II 48v/5000 Inverters

Adam, I would not be where I am with a Victron system if it were not for your videos and help! Thank you!
  • Post in thread: Moved from EG4 6500ex Inverters to Victron Multiplus II 48v/5000 Inverters

That setup sounds awesome Madcodger! I agree, the new EG4 inverters are appealing, but I decided since this was about my 4th inverter swap out I would go with the Cadillac this time.
  • Post in thread: Moved from EG4 6500ex Inverters to Victron Multiplus II 48v/5000 Inverters

The two EG4 6500ex were up-to-date on firmware. However, we experienced flickering lights daily and my UPSs I have staged around the house for internet, cameras and computers would beep throughout the day. I also experienced the EG4 inverters to just shutdown around 5 times over the duration I...

Yes I think it is. However, I have learned the hard way to go with a Low Frequency Inverter not a High Frequency Inverter (cheaper) if you have any kind of equipment that causes large surges. I just ordered a Growatt 12kw 48v inverter similar to what Joe BoyKey has.
  • Post in thread: Leaking Electrolyte from Bigbattery Powerblock

Hi all, Solar newbie here. Wow I just ordered a Hawk from BB which is supposed to be delivered this Saturday. I will definitely take pictures as I unbox it. Looking forward to this forum and building my Solar system. I appreciate everyone’s feedback on this site! Thanks again! iSwannie

Yep carrying between 275 to 300 watt right now with all computer equipment, freezer and entertainment system. I added some more info to the graph explaining what is happening.
  • Post in thread: Adding a second full rack of batteries to existing full rack

Hi Solar Enthusiasts, I have a similar system setup with 9 batteries with 2 EG4 6500ex inverters. They are working well.
  • Post in thread: A Big Thanks to Big Battery, Joe BoyKey and This Solar Forum

Growatt 12k 150 Vic. I would recommend the 12k 250 Vic for easier expansion. I don’t really need the 12k either. I probably could have gotten by with the 8k or 10k. Used Trina 275w panels 38 Voc and 8 isc. 3 panels in a string. I have two arrays of 4 strings for 6600 of the 275w. I have...

Hi iamrich, I love your profile name! The house is a little under 2500sqft single story and I am currently carrying all my 120v. I am in the initial planing to add 220v starting with my 3.5 ton HVAC Trane 2 stage heat pump and variable blower. My solar system is off-grid and entirely mobile...

Hello DIYers, See my new electric bill and usage attached with last 30 days chart of off-grid solar living. Bill is half the price as of last year at same time. My system consists of: 10kw Solar Panels 10kw SPF 5000 ES (2 Inverters in Parallel) Solar Edge Midpoint Transformer Growatt...
  • Post in thread: Growatt - Odd behavior

All, I have only been studying and playing with the solar concepts for about 6 months so please feel free to critic as required. After further analysis and looking at the results in more detail on my system I believe what appears to be happening is the Growatt 48v SPF 3000TL MPPT is responding...

  • Post in thread: Seeing Growatt Website Issues http://server-us.growatt.com/index

Wow, very nice systems guys. I got this feedback for those using the Growatt software. Hi Coalen, The issue of showing trend from yesterday when refresh should be fixed now. Regarding the battery storage trend, we are told that our development team got rid of it, therefore, it will not be...

Ok will see what I can find. Thank you! here is a better shot. Looks like voltage stays and amps drop.
  • Post in thread: Leaking Electrolyte from Bigbattery Powerblock

Yep, I did the same thing as you are thinking because I was so deep in the cost now I had to stick with the 24v Hawks. However, when you put these 24v 170ah Hawks in series it creates the issue I am having. I am not sure how to resolve this. It really seems like a balancer is needed between...
  • Post in thread: Growatt 3000 48v ballance charging Fla?

Hi GroScout, Ian at Watts247 said those settings are only for lead acid batteries. I have LiFePO4 so I will not be using settings 43-48.
  • Post in thread: New PV Keeper 2.0 for Growatt Inverters

Thanks Joe, not finding where the SA version is. Pierre said the Modbus data looks different than any Growatt inverter he has seen. I will see if I can find another cable to try. Coal

Ouch! That would be a very hard lesson to take! Thank you!
  • Post in thread: New PV Keeper 2.0 for Growatt Inverters

I sure don't like flying blind not being able to see what inverter is doing. I couldn't get the Growatt wifi dongle to work either and it was on the previous inverter too.
  • Post in thread: Growatt - Odd behavior

Here is today’s solar system with some explanation of what is going on. My goal is to reach 1000w continuous 24hrs a day.
  • Post in thread: Growatt - Odd behavior

    1. Yes I use the wifi dongle and their website provides the data feed. 2. Yes, all my computer equipment, freezer, refrigerator, music equipment and entertainment system. Plan to add more load soon. I do not have any 240 volt yet but in next couple weeks will add another 8kwh battery which will...
