I'd be interested in 4 of those boards. You have resistors in there that mine do not have. Could you add a display screen? Also... I've found that lvc and hvc can sometimes cause high current (assumption) on ground coming from the bms serial port. I've had three instances where insulation...

Answering questions from above: Yes, temp spikes that make no real sense have shown up. That on going. Started a couple months ago or more. I contacted overkill about this a weeke ago. No response yet. I attached a screenshot of the recent spikes of temp. The 5k inverter was installed...

I noticed that only AC line 1 shows in the graphic. Also, there's a bug in pv output label where it always says 'w' where it's actually rounded kw

It's a single burner duxtop commercial unit. Little thing. It's staying put. 1800w max. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07G9YKPQC/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_101BVYK7W9F6XBG94981?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Did you make those boards? ...looks like Furtrader put up that new repo that's read/write on Jan 10. I haven't looked at it, don't know if the bugs in the original are fixed in the new one
  • Post in thread: Sungold split phase 6k hybrid inverter scc review

So far, I have not found a combination of settings that stabilizes the jumpiness when both solar and grid are available with the source priority set to both. If I set charge source priority to 'solar first' with the generator running, I can at least get stable positive current to the batteries...

  • Post in thread: Cell low voltage cutoff blocks charging ....sometimes??

I think I realized what triggered the issue and @HRTKD you might have been trying to communicate this... But I missed it. I wonder if the bms executing the lvc caused a sudden voltage irregularity from the scc that triggered the BMS's charge protection? At that time, the scc would have had 0...
  • Post in thread: Solving for voltage drop over 200'

I considered that early on in the project. The shipping container was chosen because it can house the power and water out of the elements and away from flammable stuff like the suites ...which I call cabins, But are actually large insulated safari tents. There's no place to safely put the...
  • Post in thread: [sold] Renogy rover 100a and 3000w 48v inverter

I have a lightly used Renogy Rover 100a and a basic 3000w 48v inverter for sale. Both have been in service for about 10 months and in great condition. I recently upgraded to split phase and a grid tied system. Rover $550 Inverter $250
  • Post in thread: Solving for voltage drop over 200'

I think the best solution given all the factors is to step up to 240 then back down to 120. I just need to select the right transformers
  • Post in thread: Overkill voltage spike on high cell cut off

[SOLVED] not battery related - I assumed it was a battery v spike issue for historical reasons. it was n-g bond related details in my inverter review thread: https://diysolarforum.com/threads/sungold-split-phase-6k-hybrid-inverter-scc-review.36334/post-533456
  • Post in thread: Large spiky current draws with no additional load... ah crap

well... shits going crazy on battery 1. I've been watching the data flow and it's throwing almost all the various error conditions and protections. I'm heading there now to test and maybe swap out the bms. ...I have a new one for a different battery. Here's a screenshot of the latest...
  • Post in thread: Separate power supply for IoT

...this seems like a reasonable forum for this post. I have a few esp32 based devices in my utility container (20' connex). Three monitor the batteries using serial connection to Overkill bms's. One monitors water flow and usage and toggles a uv sterilizer. Right now, the devices are usb...

Good point. I don't know when hum becomes a side effect. That'd be a bad thing out here. It's middle of nowhere quiet out there.

I don't know. The 4g Vision and mofi has been solid since installing it. No plans to change

  • Post in thread: Anyone working with the Overkill Solar Arduino lib?

I ordered 5 of the boards. They didn't add the mosfets and shipped them out. ...I should have paid more attention to the "fine print". @Porch
  • Post in thread: 48v inverter low voltage cutoff leaves so much on the table.

I'm using 48v 100ah LiFePO4 banks with overkill bms's. I'm aware of how they work. I also have them monitored by esp32 devices that I built.
  • Post in thread: Overkill (JBD) Cell Overvoltage cut-off ....delayed too long??

Hey folks, I have a strange issue with an Overkill (JBD) BMS delaying cell over voltage charge protection longer then it should ( I think ). I cannot explain it ...100% The set up... 1. I'm working with a 16s 48v overkill bms 2. 100ah cylindrical cell modules from batteryhookup 3. Using the...
  • Post in thread: 48v inverter low voltage cutoff leaves so much on the table.

Regarding low voltage cut off by inverters. How do you all deal with inverters that cut off long before your bms(s) will? My xyz 3000w inverter cuts ac power at about 46.5 input volts. This leaves so much unused capacity in my 48v 200ah battery bank.
  • Post in thread: Need a JBD or Overkill 16s fast!

I apologize if this is the wrong place to post this. I screwed up one of my Overkill 16s 48v bms's and I need a replacement fast. Overkill is backordered, again. It doesn't have to be Overkill really, it could be any of the tested version of the JBD unit. Does anyone have one for sale or...
  • Post in thread: esp32 automatic inverter restart device

Well, I'm dropping this project now that I know what the issue is. However, I am going to connect my 9000w generator to the system and have it automatically start in the event of a power loss due to lvc and shut off when the inverter restarts. I'll post about that separately.
  • Post in thread: Anyone working with the Overkill Solar Arduino lib?

If anyone can answer these questions, it would be super helpful. ...I'm also doing my own research - as much as I can. Is the communication issue between the bms and the esp32 due to the uart voltage diff? That is, the esp32 uart is 3.3v and the bms is 5v. All that I read about that...
  • Post in thread: Anyone working with the Overkill Solar Arduino lib?

well, I'm not sure what you mean by that. ....and Guess you could get one with an LTE chip and use it as a wifi hotspot. But, why not just get a hotspot and not spend the time screwing with that part of the system if you don't have to?
  • Post in thread: 48v inverter low voltage cutoff leaves so much on the table.

I suppose it's a matter opinion then... That's 4.8v in the pack until bms cutoff at 2.6 (that my setting). Even with the flat discharge curve, I think that's significant
  • Post in thread: Overkill (JBD) Cell Overvoltage cut-off ....delayed too long??

haha, it's been a little finicky, yes.
  • Post in thread: reliable off-grid internet for monitoring - what are you using?

It costs me $12-25 per trip out there... plus about 4hrs. So, I went big with the mofi. Tired of making the run. ...hoping it is solid and stays on
  • Post in thread: 48v inverter low voltage cutoff leaves so much on the table.

Adding another cell to the bank would make it 17s 51v battery, nominally. How would the bms monitor the 17th?
