I didn't know anything about batteries or cells or lifepo4 7 months and then I decided I'd like to upgrade my batteries in my RV. So watching videos reading information here. I decided to jump in 2 feet all at once. I ordered from Jenny Wu and mentioned Ray's name. I got 4 280ah 2800k cells for...
Yes.
Shipping and tax I paid $600 for 4 cells..there was a card fee where the total came to $617
Docan Tech EV LF280K 6000 cycles lifepo4 3.2V 280Ah battery from Jenny Wu
What exactly happens when you crank your generator?
I have a battery I built with 150 amp BMS which has no trouble turning over my Onan 4K.
Which 100 amp hour battery did you buy?
When the current from the alternator turns off then you will not have back feed through the dc2dc, it's a one-way...
Just wanted to update this thread since I could barely find any information about a lithium battery starting a onboard RV generator. I built a 280 amp hour pack with a 150 amp JBD BMS hooked it all up and fired up my generator multiple times with no problems. Using the Bluetooth app for the BMS...
Looking at a 2000w inverter and the two I'm looking at are the
GIANDEL 2200W Pure Sine Wave
and the
WZRELB Reliable 2000W Pure Sine
one has a terminal block for high power appliances plus two standard US plug in's
The other has only two standard US plugs
Question:
Using a heavy extension...
Thanks ..I'll just have to do some actual measuring instead of just thinking about it. My son is the 3D printing guy and he said this is very doable and looking forward to me getting the measurements for him. We might be doing a Renogy type color scheme
Yeah he's a wiz with the printer. Made me a RV bathroom cabinet latch that broke
He printed one from scratch. I'll post the progress when we get something
Current connected has the JBD 150a in stock looks like, otherwise you can get it in the other link on I posted from China and hope it gets to you in a timely manner

Overkill has the 120a model only
to answer my own question I went with the Giandel with the terminal block (& 3 yr warranty). Looks like I can draw more watts out of the block then just out of the single socket.
If you can find someone with a 3D printer this guy is sharing his box build with the same specs as you have. 304ah cells with a 200a JBD BMS. I would look into it

Good Point! Alot easier to add spacers if my pack is smaller.
Son was telling me the thing he was worried about was that if he had to stretch or shorten it it might skew the holes for the rods and or the screws
Ran into a snag. My terminals are too wide changing the parameters completing messes up the case parameters. My terminals are 25.4 mm from stud center to edge
Son is printing the first cell housing now and will bring it over this weekend to see if we need to do any adjustments. This is going to be a long time in the making since we only see him on the weekends.
@bryn
When your done do you think you could share your design? Looks like you have the same issue with the studs being out closer to the edge as I do. I would redesign myself but son is the one with the printer and I can only ask him to print and not to take his time adjusting for me.
But this...

Actually I guess I'll pull the trigger on the link above tomorrow unless someone says I can use the outlet on the back of the plugin type inverter to power my panel.
I'll be using a transfer switch...
Damn! All these new tools I'm buying..lol. hopefully I can use them again. I'll go this afternoon and get one and give you a boots on the ground report. Thanks!
They match..but here's my head scratcher
When I test the line and neutral together I get 120v. When I test the line and ground I get 66v
I test the neutral and the ground I get 54v
Why is that? These measurements are at the inverter terminal block.
Shouldn't I get 120v from the line to the...
Yeah this mobile inverter stuff made my head hurt all day. Not sure if there is a inverter that has a terminal block with a neutral ground bond that I have found. I would return this and get it of someone has a recommend. I did watch a grounding video Will mentioned in his inverter video...
Okay. I will find out but I'm dumb and don't understand this
" Can be bonded to the safety ground or not"
Is this something I can do with a meter? Sorry I'm a idiot when it comes to this. If you say connect this to this I can do that. Lol.
