I want to begin by saying thank you for all your useful threads. I'm new to the LiFePo4/solar world and have learned a lot from you guys.

I'm building a 12V 304Ah unit along with a 200A JBD BMS for the tongue of my camper. I've seen many posts where a smaller, let's say 100Ah, battery is put into a weather proof case, such as a Pelican, and I want to do the same. The problem is that these 304Ah cells are pretty big when assembled and I can't find a case that will fit it all. Sure, there are the really big monstrosities with wheels, but I don't want or need wheels.

My dimensions with my compression setup are:
Side to side (terminal to terminal direction) - 8.25 inches (209.55 mm)
Thickness (the 4 cells packed together) - 14 inches (355.6 mm)
Height (bottom to top of post) - 8.75 inches (222.25 mm)

Does anybody have any suggestions for a waterproof case that isn't $300? I've spent some time searching and I'm coming up empty.
I'm hoping somebody has done this already and can share their findings. Thanks.

This post doesn't directly address your question, but I would look for a dual battery holder.

I chose to move my LiFePO4 battery into the RV. It provides more protection, security and better proximity (shorter cables) but most importantly I can better control the temperature of the batteries.

I considered moving it indoors, but I'm skeptical of drilling holes for the cables.

My trailer is 15 years old so I don't worry about drilling holes. I consider it a way to reduce weight.

You already have holes throughout the trailer where the factory ran wiring. Often, the hole is much larger than necessary so you may not have to enlarge it. But if you are placing the batteries in a compartment that is remote and has no wiring nearby then you'll be drilling holes.

Also, your BMS is not rated for exposure to the elements. Battery boxes aren't an airtight environment.

I think I found a Pelican on sale that will work. Thanks for all the input.
