so I've had some confidence build as I slowly adjusted settings up, top balanced a bit, adjusted up, etc. The controller was appropriately responsive and took my settings changes pretty quickly and repetitively. After topping out the settings, I let it run for a few days to confirm that it was...
  • Post in thread: How to set up my EPEVER Tracer-AN MPPT Tracer5415AN, 50A 12/24/36/48VDC,

yes it should. In fact, it was set to 16 (over and over) but once I save the config and close it, it reverts to 12 every time. See Post https://diysolarforum.com/threads/epever-6415an-doesnt-respect-my-settings.18833/ for the exhaustive testing to finally say... ok, whatever. I'd be curious if...
  • Post in thread: EpEver 6415AN Relay Options

I am interested in utilizing the relay trigger circuits but am finding it difficult to determine what relay to use. If anyone else is using these circuits, either secondary power input (AC or DC) or primary and secondary load disconnect, what relay are you using? I want to connect 2 110ac 24vdc...
  • Post in thread: Tracer3210AN float voltage not measuring up

I wonder if the RBVS interface connection would help? I see a variable difference between controller voltage and battery voltage. It wanders between .08v under when not charging to as much as 1.1v over under heavy charge. I've adjusted my voltages to compensate, but it's really estimated as a...
  • Post in thread: Epever 6415AN doesn't respect my settings

120 boost duration has come and gone but still in boost. Sun was blasting until about 12:15 and is now partly cloudy. Still mostly above boost voltage tho. I'll be bumping up on the charge limit voltage soon so will see if that stops it. If so, i feel safe with the top end of charging and can...
  • Post in thread: Epever 6415AN doesn't respect my settings

right off the bat, as soon as the panels began producing, the controller started in float. I shut down the panels and battery, then brought it back up. Now it's in boost and below all trigger voltages. I dropped the boost duration to 10 so the timer won't affect stage transition. Changes in...
  • Post in thread: Epever 6415AN doesn't respect my settings

looking better today. The voltage has ramped down to meet the float voltage once boost voltage was achieved.
  • Post in thread: Epever 6415AN doesn't respect my settings

Scary Moment Had a very grey morning, so much less early charge than usual. Around 12:30, hit a bright spot and started cranking in the amps. After bursting to more than 3,000w, then about 5 minutes of 2,900w, my 50 amp controller to battery circuit breaker popped for the first time. I shut down...
  • Post in thread: Smallest 48v BMS?

It is a great unit. Pricey, but worth it for my application. Self-contained, self-sufficient mobile wireless broadcast system. This is the prototype unit.
  • Post in thread: Epever 6415AN doesn't respect my settings

I'll be very interested in performance tomorrow. Maybe it's ok now? I sure hope so. The controller stayed in float until the panels cut out, never returning to boost like usual. I top balanced to 2mv delta prior to putting in service. Was a bit OCD about it as many sources online stress near...
  • Post in thread: Epever 6415AN doesn't respect my settings

so back to the original problem. Here I am again. After rewiring my charge controller last night, and having it completely disconnected for hours, I would have thought that the most recent set of configuration adjustments would be honored today. I deferred reconnecting the optional load and kept...
  • Post in thread: Question about MPP Solar and Float Voltage - not necessarily MPP Solar specific

i've found that by setting the boost, float boost recon voltages close together, the controller hands off the CC function from a timed boost control to float mode. I adjusted my boost voltage to 53.9v, float to 53.85 and boost recon to 53.8, and my boost duration back to 10 minutes as the 30...
  • Post in thread: charge controller settings for 10% to 90%

you can create multiple profiles in Epever via the software, and save them to your computer. More of a manual process, but totally works the same way.
  • Post in thread: Epever 6415AN doesn't respect my settings

Apparently I've wiggled the configuration enough that things are working seemingly correctly. After resetting the controller to default lifepo4 settings, I spent most of the afternoon in float and adjusted to float voltage several times. Each time, the controller responded quickly and adjusted...
  • Post in thread: Conservative Cycling Charge Range

In conservatively cycling lifepo4 batteries, would cycle life be higher, same or lower if you cycled between 100% and 50% SOC, as opposed to 75% and 25% SOC?
  • Post in thread: Epever 6415AN doesn't respect my settings

no respect for current configuration today. Going back, the apparent configuration being used is from march 5... hmm... I found both of these videos enlightening regarding boost, float settings I've adopted the guidance in my settings and am waiting to see if they perform well for my set...
  • Post in thread: Epever 6415AN doesn't respect my settings

I haven't experienced random controller loss of settings. They even stay when i disconnect panels and batteries.
  • Post in thread: Epever 6415AN doesn't respect my settings

180 minutes... still no float broke 10KW for the first time tho :-)
  • Post in thread: Epever 6415AN doesn't respect my settings

my latest theory is that maybe one of the settings i want to adjust is inadvertently changing the mode the system operates in. Boost, float and boost recon adjustments seem to hold. It may be that reducing the charge limit voltage below an undetermined threshold pushes the configuration into the...
  • Post in thread: Struggling with basic LiFePO4 settings in Epever Tracer

  • Post in thread: Epever 6415AN doesn't respect my settings

more normal function today. The system was below the undervoltage but the warning didn't show this am. Spent the day in boost but only made it to 75%SOC. Not surprising since I upped the constant load yesterday to more than my panels can make. I plan to install 4-445w panels tomorrow morning so...
  • Post in thread: Epever 6415AN doesn't respect my settings

Behavior today was different for an unknown reason. Started in boost until around 10am, then switched to float, at the voltage i set two days ago. It floated for an hour or two, then went back to boost for the rest of the day. I made another set of configuration changes today because the...
  • Post in thread: SC48120-MPV Addition to SPF 12000T DVM MPV Inverter

I've added a SC48120-MPV stand alone solar charge controller to my existing SPF 12000T DVM MPV Growatt 12K Inverter so i can add even more panels. Charging works fine but I'm trying to figure out how to get the new SCC to speak/report with/to the main inverter. Seems like I require an RS485...
  • Post in thread: Epever 6415AN doesn't respect my settings

I've had this controller since 9/2019 and recently upgraded my battery bank from sealed lead acid to LiFePo4. The changeover was a bit nerve-wracking, but it all went fine after a couple of restarts. Now, i've chosen my operating voltages, but the controller is ignoring them. I wanted the...
  • Post in thread: Epever 6415AN doesn't respect my settings

hehe... Changes made through the software. Hit update, got changes successful message. I know that's true because i occasionally have set things wrong and got a update failed and why message. I have re-read them after i got a update successful message and the new numbers are reflected...
  • Post in thread: Epever 6415AN doesn't respect my settings

Since my first post, I have charged well past my boost settings, but not quite up to the voltage limit so have only seen boost charge mode. This morning, at 53.12v, very early in the charge for the day, my epever suddenly switched to equalisation charge. Definitely below where it should be to EQ...
  • Post in thread: Any issues maxing out an Epever Tracer BN?

you can over-watt a controller, but not over volt. I have a 6415an and the book says you can have 50% more wattage than rated. But, if you exceed the max voltage AND max wattage, you can damage the controller. As long as you respect these two conditions, you should be fine.
  • Post in thread: Epever 6415AN doesn't respect my settings

damn... over charge limit and still banging in juice at boost. I've never had the charge limit above 56 and yet, there it is, still with no float. Up to 12.5KW for the day so far. My panels are at 10 degrees facing west. They should be at 17 degrees facing south but our sun comes so directly...
  • Post in thread: Epever 6415AN doesn't respect my settings

I checked all the documents i have. Although there are a number of references to the charge limit voltage, there are no explanations.
  • Post in thread: Epever 6415AN doesn't respect my settings

Lithium is an option screen in the software that I hadn't actually expected. I had planned to use the lead acid user settings which can accommodate the settings for a wide variety of battery chemistries. It is the stock software downloaded directly from Epever for use with the usb interface...
  • Post in thread: Epever 6415AN doesn't respect my settings

yes. That's it. DC-DC conversion is at 95% and the sealed lead acid uses an additional 5 watts or so to maintain the voltage at 26.6v. Because the draw on my main bank is steady, it weathers passing clouds very well. I supply all the surges with lead acid. This design was deployed to test...
  • Post in thread: Epever 6415AN doesn't respect my settings

wish i had been here to see it. I have no idea what actually happened so no way to adjust or anticipate... we need a REALLY long jumper between our systems to even everything out
  • Post in thread: Megarevo RxLNA Discussion

What if you connected your grid to the generator in rather than the grid in? Wouldn’t that prevent all back feed?
  • Post in thread: What charger to charge 48v bank and a few questions

I use this: https://www.amazon.com/Adjustable-Converter-Switching-Regulated-4-Digital/dp/B08JPKQD41 They also make a 24a which I also have. I use them both, set to 51.4v and plugged in to the grid to keep my banks from going to low on my off grid system. They have been excellent performers.
  • Post in thread: Epever 6415AN doesn't respect my settings

Good thinking. I am also data intensive and want the entire story. The epever software is a tease for that. I like your output a lot. Wish I could extract every drop of data and organize it in a similar way...
  • Post in thread: Epever 6415AN doesn't respect my settings

no. Still deciding if this is more a matter of my dumb settings than a controller problem. Being in the Virgin Islands, receiving a replacement could take weeks. got down to 49.02v this am. Controller did report undervoltage this time. I'm thinking it might take this controller a day to...
  • Post in thread: Epever 6415AN doesn't respect my settings

... so if you can't beat 'em, join 'em default settings thinks i have a 12S configuration. It was the first thing I changed when customizing the configuration. THIS time, I just went with it and have been able to adjust boost, float and boost reconnect voltages to more tolerant than default...
  • Post in thread: Epever 6415AN doesn't respect my settings

I'm taking it up with epever first. I mostly like this controller, especially at the price point. There may be some guidance the factory can provide that will resolve the problem. If not, i'd likely bite the bullet and go victron. As overpriced as they appear, people seem to be quite happy with...
  • Post in thread: Conservative Cycling Charge Range

First, I live in the virgin islands which has intermittent, dirty grid power. I regularly see voltages as low as 75 and as high as 160 (sometimes back and forth multiple times daily) with fluctuations in hertz from 58-62 as well. Grid power damages and destroys electronics, appliances and...
  • Post in thread: Megarevo (R10KNA) parallel on-grid installation

I just completed a virtually identical situation. I had a growatt 12kW with 8kW panels (18-445w Canadian Solar 3S6P) and 60kW (4-15kW lifepo4, 304AHx16 cells, JKBMS) battery storage. I replaced the single Growatt with a pair of Megarevo R10KLNA units in parallel and revised the panel/string...
  • Post in thread: Epever 6415AN doesn't respect my settings

I completely agree. The vast majority of configuration advice is centered around intermittent and surge load, With constant load, wider boost, float, reconnect settings are bad. Also, the bigger the battery, the longer it needs to sit at voltage (CV), for that voltage to soak in (CC). I would...

  • Post in thread: Smallest 48v BMS?

AWESOME! It has exceed all expectations. The system was built to provide internet connectivity to public school students in low income neighborhoods so they could do their homework online without a home internet connection needed. It is shuffled from neighborhood to neighborhood, community...

Excellent setup! I use raspberry pi's in conjunction with snmp to monitor network functions, so am familiar with data collection via snmp. They are ideal for simple data collection and analysis, not to mention super affordable. I need to learn some python though as solar doesn't use snmp and I...
  • Post in thread: Epever 6415AN doesn't respect my settings

adjusted boost, float and boost recon at the end of the charging day and the software responded immediately. More confirmation that the 12S default change to 16S was to blame.
  • Post in thread: Smallest 48v BMS?

I have need for a small 48V BMS to balance a 25Ah, 48V 7P, 14S 18650 pack with a 110w solar charge and a 20w constant load. Max amperage is <3A so a 5A BMS would be plenty. Does anyone know of a 48V, 5A BMS or 14S, 4.2V active balancer that would keep my pack happy without overspending or...
  • Post in thread: charge controller settings for 10% to 90%

don't think so. you have to export to save and import to load
  • Post in thread: Epever 6415AN doesn't respect my settings

MT50 only access would definitely hide a number of software based settings. So odd that they wouldn't duplicate everything in both. so things are much closer to expectations now, but still not quite what they should be. Though I have boost, float and boost recon set, the controller still isn't...
  • Post in thread: Tracer3210AN float voltage not measuring up

RBVS is remote battery voltage sensor Apologies, but your controller doesn't have it. I have a 6415AN and it comes with this port https://www.epsolarpv.com/upload/file/2103/Tracer-AN(50-100A)-Manual-EN-V3.1.pdf https://www.epsolarpv.com/upload/file/2103/Tracer-AN-Manual-EN-V2.1.pdf
