As far as the DC to the AC, I don’t know enough about that. It seems like the Electrician would know this, as he’s had some experience. He just doesn’t know a lot about systems like mine, but more commercial built systems. As far as the I-beam goes, battleborn says any inverter that does over...

Thanks for all your help! I’ve tried Battle Born Batteries, a guy I know who’s into AC solar and you guys, of course, and nobody has the answer, or at least the solution. I’m going to try to hire an expert, but I have no idea where to find them! I guess I should start with Victron since most of...
  • Post in thread: Specific grounding diagram

Well, nobody seems to be able to solve this issue. 20 K of solar just sitting there doing nothing! ? I do appreciate those who tried to help! ?
  • Post in thread: Help on finding the right size ground bar?

I just realized that I hadn’t paid enough attention to the grounding of all my solar gear. My bus bars are rated at 500 A and I will be pushing around 350 A through my whole system. So what size ground bar or type do I need for all my gounding connections? I need at least 12 grounding...
  • Post in thread: Second battery bank questions!

Just realized that they’re not the real problem, just how I was handling them. The way to avoid problems are some of the points noted in my last post. The real fix is to not connect the final wire until the switch is on and then using a resister to make the final attachment. And you can turn...
  • Post in thread: Specific grounding diagram

Just thought I’d bring everyone up to the latest. Removed all the charge controllers from the positive busbar and there was no problems with the inverter. So now I’m working with Battle Born Batteries to see if we can track down the problem. I tried bringing back one charge controller at a...
  • Post in thread: Second battery bank questions!

Well test one was a complete failure! Not only did I repeatedly not get the second battery system up, my first battery bank shorted out also! ☹️ Fortunately I got my first battery bank working again. So I have a question if anybody can help, I don’t not like these blue sea on/off switch for the...
  • Post in thread: Grounding issue? Shorting

I believe it was an hour or longer, as I had to re-wire connections from charge controller to charge controller. Strange that the batteries fuse didn’t blow then? Basically right now I have all three charge controllers grounded to a small ground bar that goes to a separate ground bar in the...
  • Post in thread: Grounding issue? Shorting

I believe the ground fault protection was in place, as the electrician would’ve tied the ground to the neutral/ground at the main panel. If it’s already grounded there, where am I supposed to ground the chassis of the inverter? Attachment enclosed. ?
  • Post in thread: Finding the right size bus bar

As usual I forgot the fuse size holder, I’m wondering what ones would be best for my system. I was told to have a bus bar of 350 A, so what kind of fuse size holder would I get?
  • Post in thread: Grounding issue? Shorting

That’s my understanding, but I don’t know enough about it to know how to check a ground & neutral bond? ? I had an electrician hook up inverter to the main panel, he ran 6/3 wire from the inverter to the panel, they were a hot, neutral and ground wire. So my guess would be he would’ve grounded...
  • Post in thread: Second battery bank questions!

Yes, I moved the Battleborn down to the 55.2 charge like the SOK, too start with and then like you say, move up slowly and see what happens. As far as the kilowatts coming from the MPPT’s, it’s at only 6.2 kW. I used to have my system wired in 24 V and realized it wasn’t very efficient for power...
  • Post in thread: Battery fuse blew?

No. I don’t have that kind of equipment. But I tighten them down the same way I did all the others and nothing happened. Nothing is loose.
  • Post in thread: Second battery bank questions!

The DC breakers I’ve seen wouldn’t fit 1/0 wire size? The times I usually burn up bluesea cause a spark that makes them not work anymore, is usually when I’m experimenting. All my lessons have been long and painful learning curves. I learned about resistors and inverters. Pre-charging ? I was...
  • Post in thread: Second battery bank questions!

Do you know what the torque is for SOK? On most of the equipment, I could never find this kind of information. ?
  • Post in thread: Second battery bank questions!

I thought the both of these batteries were 16s? If I use the lowest setting for both battery banks, the battle Børns won’t be fully charged! Since I have shunts on both battery banks, I’m guessing that I can use two different charge settings, as long as everything else is the same. ?
  • Post in thread: Second battery bank questions!

Update: very little change in the wide gap of charging and discharging between the battery banks. If anybody has any suggestions that they might find later on, please post them here. One thing I would say, would be not to use Battle Born Batteries and SOK together, doesn’t seem like a good match! ?

The inverter is grounded by a green wire to panel. I do hear that on main panels that you can ground to both neutral and ground, but on subpanels you cannot. All charge controllers grounds are going to a separate ground bar outside.
  • Post in thread: Self running Generators

The problem is that those in charge aren’t interested in free energy or at least having the people have it. If you look at what’s going on now with the election and the UN, and what they called a reset, there may not be any freedom left to do much of anything. The mantra is you won’t own...
  • Post in thread: Battery fuse blew?

Thanks for that info, this is really been helpful. Here is my list of components. I have eight Battle Born Batteries wired in series/parallel for 24 V. I’ve been told the capacity would be 400 amp hours in settings in VictronConnect. I have two Victron charge controllers 250/100 I have one...

That sounds reasonable, except the crimps are superb as I used Will Prowses own recommendations of equipment. There as tight as I can get them without damaging them. ?
