I disagree. There’s plenty of evidence if you go online, people from all over the world are designing these things. I’m not asking for a free lunch, I’m asking for something you can purchase that will run without fuel.
There’s also a lot of people talking about conspiracy, as far as peoples...
Success! Finally got everything working except the battery monitor won’t show up in connect app?
Anyway this is what I did. First I took out all the fuses and disconnected everything and waited 10 minutes. Then I connected the first charge controller and then the second charge controller...
Updated my system to 6 kW of PV and 8 Battle Born Batteries for 9.6 kW. Still not enough for winter. Rewired the batteries for a safer and more efficient outcome. Jon
Thanks. In the past I just would wire everything to the batteries, I guess this isn’t the best idea. Now that I have expensive lithium batteries, I’m trying to configure the best and safest setup.
Update: How ironic, the Victron battery monitor they sent me arrived today and it already has a 500 amp shunt in the box. The manufacturer must feel that this is OK? ?
Well, after solving some other issues with my inverter, I found out that the best way to get my gas generator working probably wasn’t the way you think!
After contacting Battle Born Batteries, and having them, tell me that I really needed to get a computer with Microsoft to change the settings...
2400 W solar, six 100w hours 12V battleborn batteries and two Victron charge controllers 250/100 & 100/30. One Victron 24/3000 inverter and one 1500W go power inverter.
Everything is wired or bought at 24 V.
Just wanted to say a special thanks to Will Prowse and other contributing posters in the...
I watched that video, probably the reason you never heard from them again is they’ve either been bought out, threatened or put in prison.
I remember bloom energy many years ago on 60 minutes, saying will have energy in a box in every home, it never happened – you don’t even hear about it...
For people who are studying energy, I’ve never met so many negative people. My aim is to shed light on a topic that most people don’t seem to understand. For those who study Nikola Tesla, he was way ahead of his time and was shut down by the bankers. I know energy can be achieved without sun...
After playing around with my general setup, I’ve noticed that there’s a lot I don’t understand and hope some of you can answer these questions.
To give you an overview of what I presently have in my system.
1.5 kW solar panels, 1500 W inverter by go power, Renogy 60 amp charge controller, six...
A few other tips for rookies like me. Every time you unhook your battery bank, and do some work, it seems you have to let the batteries equalize again, as mine had big divergence from battery the battery.
Also, when connecting a resistor to your bus bar, make sure it’s on the main part of the...
Something like that, but it happened after I disconnected the SOK battery bank? I knew enough to make my settings on the shunt. I just didn’t understand the two charge differences, battleborn being 56.8, and SOK being 55.2.
I’ll probably split the difference and make it 56. Hopefully that won’t...
Thanks for clarifying things, a lot of the stuff I don’t think about. This is in the house, just not connected to the grid power. I have a copper rod used for lightning in the backyard and the solar panels have copper wire around their bases and going down to the copper rod.
Then below, you...
Each one is a different voltage when connected, but only on the shunt! I’m going to try to split the difference at 56. Victron is the shunt I go with, as my charge controllers are Victron and my inverter also.
At the time I started building my system, server rack batteries were just coming out.
Looking at the larger charge controller manual, they talk about hooking up an RJ45 UTP cable to another charge controller, in my case I don’t see one in the smaller charge controller. But they have something called a VE.direct.
it would be nice to have a video explaining how this works? I...
There’s a voltage wire from the positive of the battery to the shunt in order to turn it on. I do not believe the shunts have different readings, it’s the settings you put on the shunts that makes the difference. Basically, they’re the same, except like I said, one manufacture, calls out for one...
Oh my God, I got it working! All I did was take a pre-charge resistor to the positive wire, and hold it for a couple of seconds to precharge the inverter capacitors! I did this before connecting the positive to the busbar.
Can’t take credit for it since the Victron guy told me to do this. I had...
I came across this website and chart data on busbars.

The only reason I went from 12V to 24V is because I bought the 24 V inverter by mistake! ?
That’s how little I knew when I first started, then I read up and found out that it was actually a plus!
Well you’ve been in just about every kind of tech. I fumbled around in photography for years until I finally figured out I needed to go to school. So I took a couple of years and did studio lighting, Cibachrome and type C only to find out that it’s obsolete now. Did some fashion photography...
Thanks for the insights, and I do need to strap those batteries down. I have disconnected all PV panels when working on the combiner box or I just turn off the breakers when working below on my system.
As far as the transfer switch, I would be lost as I am with whatever you’re telling me. In...
