I have a rheem heat pump water heater for a year now. There are 2 of us in the house.
I have a bunch of solar panels up 7kw worth. Our normal use is between 700 watt hours and 2.5 kilowatt hours
for the power reported from the device as it is on wifi.
It has a high demand mode for fast...
Oh this reminds me of how i started. Same kit from harbor freight (a designer drug).
I then went on to add some 100 watt panels and an eperver charge contoller.
I now have 4 growatt all in one hybrid off grid inverters doing the whole house (AC and dryer).
Batteries are tricky on the percent...
Another fan of solar assistant here. I have 4 batteries soon to be 6 plus 4 growatts connected to on solar assistant.
It uses mqtt to talk to home assistant. Full 2 way control. I have rules set in home assistant to change to grid for battery level
I also restrict charging at higher battery...
The neutrals need to combined and run to the same load center as the hots.
I have 4 growatts 3k in a split phase setup and works great. The host one needs to on first.
No power sharing cable (green twisted cable) for only 2 growatts. The growatts need to be
connected to the battery though...
One option to try is to put 2 caps (high voltage) in series with the middle going to ground.
One these on the PV coming and the other on the battery cable. I have had some success with this but perfect
It is cheap to try. A fellow ham here
I have been doing it the same way at my power corner. Plywood with tile underlayment on top. Works great for moving things around.
My evolved over time as i learned more and "needed" more. The rules for grid tied in calif changed and wanted to be prepared for it.
I have 24 volt versions on the wall and they are working great. Solar assistant does a great job of adding the missing pieces that
is not in the cloud or on them. I am now running a 3 ton AC off grid with the rest of the house.
Correction This IS addictive. I started with a smal harbor freight and now have 4 diy batteries, 4 growatts, 4 load centers and the whole house
connected to it. Pacific Graft and Extortion does not get any of my money. The hybrid electric water heater does a great job of lowering the
gas...
Check in a product called Flume. It is a meter reader realtime and does alerts via email text, and connects to home assistant.
It works great. It is about 150 bucks.
That is kinda the way i go my 4 batteries balanced.
I am using a heltech active balancer with a voltage switch on the on switch.
Once i see 27 volts then it turns on. a 5 amp balancer does 1 amp of balance currant for 100 mv or cell difference.
The first few time it had adjust the max voltage...
I user solar assistant to talk to 4 growatts and 4 JBD BMSs.
It works great. Need a usb connection from each device. It keeps track of everything.
It also exports real time to Home assistant.
I am using Solar Assistant. It is a raspberry pi setup that logs everything connected via usb
I have mine connected to 4 batteries DIY JBD and 4 growatts.
It then uses MQTT to talk to home assistant.
