Hello PV'ers,

I would like to add something to my ham room PV system that is PV=50v x 10amps and batery=12v x208ah SOK
that can chart the battery charging on the 30amp x 12v solar charge controller output
and give me a nice graph like the Sunnyboy-7 is doing on the house system... the example below.
I am doing some tests to have better output in bad weather and need better data collection.
a graph of amp-hours rather than the KW/H shown below on the house system.

so many folks talk about using the negative shunt battery monitor and I don't understand
why you are all not using something with a hall effect sensor when you add up the cost of the
With extra connectors and a slight loss of power in the shunt, it seems like a better fit.
looking for recommendations, please. hope the links are cool with the sysop.

thank you my sunny friends,
brad

Victron Smartshunt and BMV-712 can log two parameters for 45 days.

Hall effect sensors are fine, but shunts are more accurate, and they typically don't have an upper limit on the cable size.

No way you can get a 400A conductor through that hole for the 400A model.

I am using Solar Assistant. It is a raspberry pi setup that logs everything connected via usb
I have mine connected to 4 batteries DIY JBD and 4 growatts.
It then uses MQTT to talk to home assistant.
