Thats going to be alot of spd's, 8 strings on both ends! Whats the likelihood of a lightning strike, (the array is about 75'-100' away from a railway, that has steel transmission poles along it
I'm not combining my strings, they go directly to the Inverter. If i do it like the second picture, it will keep my wire runs closer to the same length.
Can the inverters even be hooked up this way? Meaning that the grid breaker and load breaker are both connected at the same time the way i have it sketched out?
Do you have a recommendation for a tester?
I have the guys facebook page, his phone# and address, I'll get ahold of him!
I just want to know everything that i need to know, have my ducks in a row so to speak, before I contact him.
Looks like Muller industries has disappeared.
I'm creating a 48v series parallel battery bank with 20 batteries.
So other than the Thunderstruck unit, are there any other options out there for a usable BMS?
I've read that the factory HV BMS units can be reprogrammed, but haven't found any info...
So maybe if I have (2) ATS's, set up like this.
#1 will trip, but the generator wont turn on because its controlled by the inverters.
#2 will trip, the inverters will feed both breaker panels.
If the generator needs to run, the inverters will signal it to start, #2 will turn back on allowing...
Basically I want to push the power to the grid while its up, and want them as a back up when the grid goes down.
I loose power alot, usually 24hrs for a regular thunderstorm with wind. I haven't been here long enough to experience a larger event.
If i want to run any equipment while the...
I would have had to up size my wire to #6 to keep the voltage drop down. #8 was getting to close to 3% V loss for my liking.
Unless I'm mistaken, sol-ark 12k pv inputs limit you to #10 wire.
Is there any way to get the functionality i want, with only 1 ATS?
Grid up, the Sol-arks pump power into the grid all the time.
Grid down, Inverters provide power to the main breaker panels, charges batteries.
If generator needs to run the Inverters command the generator to turn on,
If i...
I was back and forth with them when the 12k's were initially released. At the time the guy i was dealing with wasn't really sure if i could do what i was asking. But he also didn't really seem to know the specs or capabilities of the inverters. Sooo?
I suppose i could have my loads connected in ATS1, and connect the backup terminals on ATS1 to the load terminals on ATS2. ATS2 would have the inverters connected to the utility terminals, and the generator connected to the backup terminals.
I believe if i did it this way, i could use a 200A...
The reason I diagramed it out this way, is because i want to be able to run a bridgeport mill, lathe, and welders. I could use VFD's or get a welder/generator, but that's another topic.
I bought the 12k inverters before there was even a mention of the 15k inverters (just had some setbacks...
I'm creating a 48v battery bank with 20 Valence batteries to connect to my 2 12k sol-arks inverters.
What are my best options for combining the 5 battery strings together?
Recommendations for best way to create my strings (9 panels per string, 2 strings per mppt - Sol-ark 12k)
Arrays are facing south, those trees are to west running south west south
I need to find replacements but am not having any luck.
Also, any recommendations on the best way/tool to solder these, soldering iron or gun, or is there something better, (spot weld) (I haven't done anything like this for over 20 years)
I wish i had known about the 15k inverters being released, that would have definitely simplified this install. I purchased the 12k's over a year ago, but between life the shutdown, shoulder surgery, and the solar installer who was mentoring me passing away, i havent made any headway, other...
Just found this forum. I'm in the process of installing my PV system (2) 12k sol-ark inverters, 26kw of panels. I've got (20) U27-12xp batteries and interconnect cables from the smith trucks to make (5) 48v strings. How are you guys combing your strings in parallel? Busbar, midnite solar...
So reviving my thread, i've decided to replace the diodes in my bad panels. I scraped away the goo inside the junction boxes, my panels have the square shape diodes. The part#'s are
PEC 9416
SB3045DY
When i search the full part# i get links to Chinese companies, as far as I can tell these are...
