Hi Guys, Anyone with experience in heavy Welding? I just want to make sure I will not Fry my BMS if the Ladder touches de Welding Metal.
Backstory:
My Brother asked me to make a replacement Lifepo4 Battery bank for his Electric Ladder, 48V.
the ladder is used to raise him and the Welding...
So this Inductive Active Balancer from heltec Link, seems to comply to your rules:
Will only balance two nearby battery which voltage defference bigger than 0.2V.
Adjacent Voltage Difference 30mV
Will this Balance Work for Permanent installation to a LFP 4S 40Ah Pack?
Thanks!! Had to try!!
This is what I was looking for.
I understand its not beneficial to Balance LFP Below 3.4v, but Why would the Heltec Balancer do Harm?
Reason Im asking, is because Ive tried these ones, they are very good.
Hi Guys, I would like to know what is the Forum's Consensus on connecting a Active Balancer, like Heltec, "Permanently" on a Battery pack?
I have heard here in the Past many Power Users were NOT recomending to attach it Permanently. Why? . They were Claiming that the balancer would De-Balance...
No expert on Conversion, but Lifepo4 voltage drop should be less than lead acid. meaning, less Amp draw from Lithium. So draw should also come down based on this.
Will be great to have someone with experience to comment on this conversion SLA to Lifepo4 48v amp draw advantage
Hi Guys, thank you for the feedbacks.
I Hope the pictures will help someone. It sure helped me when I was starting out. Im a Visual Guy.

Hi Will,
Glad to hear from you personally.
Im sorry I didnt send a picture of a latest pack design with BMS, I know everybody is anxious for updates, but have been very busy lately literally procuring BMSs.
First I´ll address the questions:
Agreed, lesson learned.
Not for a Fact, but I...
Hi Guys
Thanks all for your comments.
To answer some of the questions:
So, Top Balance was done connecting all cells in parallel, applying a charge with a Lifepo4 chinese Charger to 3.55 V and leaving the cells 24 hrs connected in parallel after the charger finished charging.
Thanks for this...
Hi @owen69420 , your input as a fireman is greatly apreciated.
You mentioned NOT to put our batteries on a Metal Enclousure.
You do Encourage Drywall, can you develop more this idea for us.
