  • Post in thread: SunGoldPower solar panels?

I ordered 4 Sungoldpower 450w panels last month and they arrived via Fedex in about ~2 weeks, no issues whatsoever with the entire process. I've already seen a peak of 1720W and they usually hum along mid-day at 1600W without spending too much time alignment-wise. Pleasantly surprised so far!
  • Post in thread: Confirm settings for 6-pin eg4-ll v2 (warning code 19)

I'm testing an eg4 3000 v2 with a single eg4-ll v2 battery and for my life in me I cannot get them to talk to each other. eg4 3000 v2 has been updated to the latest firmware eg4-ll v2 has been set to inverter mode as per the manual I've tried both the eg4 supplied 1-2 and 7-8 pin cables - the...
  • Post in thread: EG4 6000XP wiring to Reliance Pro Tran 2 transfer switch

Nope, the 510 uses 10AWG for all load wires inside the TS, including the L1/L2 gen input, and 8AWG for neutral (pass-through to the gen connection) although it calls for 6AWG connections to the TS. I did a double take too when I saw that initially, hence the call to Reliance. That's my sample...
  • Post in thread: EG4-LL-S communication issue with EG4-LL v2 (6-pin)

@Markus_EG4 @EG4_Jared thanks for your feedback, I ended up loading the multipack firmware posted elsewhere in this forum to get going, that was the only readily viable solution to me. I crimped (and confirmed) 2 comm cables with pins 3,7,8 between the LL-S and the LL2, that didn't do it...
  • Post in thread: EG4-LL-S communication issue with EG4-LL v2 (6-pin)

thanks @Markus_EG4 , will try that out over the weekend
  • Post in thread: EG4-LL-S communication issue with EG4-LL v2 (6-pin)

thanks @EG4_Jared. I have plenty of RJ45s available to crimp, is there a pin-out for the batt connection cable I can use between the V2 and LL-S to get this going/skip the firmware update for now, till I get some RS232 gear delivered?
  • Post in thread: TIGO TAP Mounting Lication

You don't need to penetrate the roof for that...(unless metal as stated above) My TAP sits about ~12ft away from the closest TS4-A-O and works just fine. Granted it's a ground array with nothing interfering between the panels and the TAP but my point is you should be able to run the TAP away...
  • Post in thread: Solar "Sub Panel" or other methods?

It really depends on the use case. Powering the entire panel, a smaller critical loads panel or individual circuits as needed. I started my solar journey a few months ago with a critical loads panel setup exactly as described above, then I quickly pivoted to a transfer switch setup for 2...
  • Post in thread: 2nd EG4 3000 needed due to MWBCs?

yes, gas furnace, minor AC draw
  • Post in thread: 6000XP - Config to top up batteries at preset time?

Is there no way for the 6000XP to charge the batteries at a preset schedule? I did confirm late last night that "Battery SOC and Time" is not it.
  • Post in thread: EG4 6000XP wiring to Reliance Pro Tran 2 transfer switch

thank you for posting this, I have a 6000XP incoming and this is exactly what I'm looking to do with my Reliance 310. Follow-up question: Do you think it's a good idea to swap the 50A AC out breaker in the 6000XP with a 30A for this particular scenario? The 310 is rated for 30A input with 10AWG...
  • Post in thread: 2nd EG4 3000 needed due to MWBCs?

That's a good point and based on the reviews I've seen so far each 3k inverter would be consuming ~1.2A @ idle. I can't combine the circuits, as starting current could trip a 20A breaker, running afterwards is fine. I think I'll revisit the idea of running additional 12/2s, there'll be an...
  • Post in thread: Confirm settings for 6-pin eg4-ll v2 (warning code 19)

Solved after finding a youtube video explaining the 6-pin panel is reversed on some eg4-ll batteries! ID 1 is NOT on the side (right) that has the ON label, it's on the opposite side. Reversed it and communication with the EG4 3k is now fine. Crazy stuff.
  • Post in thread: 2nd EG4 3000 needed due to MWBCs?

unfortunately I already received the 3k, but yeah, based on the above a 6k may have been a better starting choice. thanks!
  • Post in thread: 6000XP won't start charge with 188VDC

That seems high. Just looking at today's data, my 6000XP started charging @132.7V in the morning and cutoff @126.6V in late afternoon.
  • Post in thread: Confirm settings for 6-pin eg4-ll v2 (warning code 19)

no worries, thanks for the suggestion!
  • Post in thread: EG4 3000 2AWG to 2/0 connection?

    good point, thanks!
  • Post in thread: 2nd EG4 3000 needed due to MWBCs?

any feedback on the MWBC question would be greatly appreciated! Is there a better/alternate design in dealing with these MWBCs? thank you
  • Post in thread: 6000XP - Config to top up batteries at preset time?

thanks, good to hear. Was this done through setting AC Charge Based On = "Time" or something else? Also, not sure how ECO plays into this, as it's used only if there's no load, no?
  • Post in thread: EG4 3000 - SOC Cut off, Does inverter cycle back on?

bummer...did you have to flip the on/off switch to get it back? I wonder if setting a different power mode (SUB etc) via the power tab would force it to cycle as well
  • Post in thread: EG4 3000 v2 back to battery 60% minimum

Not exactly. Charge your battery to 100%. Use setting 43 to control a low/desirable SOC threshold to fall back to utility (20% min). That gives you a 20%-100% usable SOC range for battery use. Setting 44 is only used as the charge threshold AFTER you've triggered the low threshold in setting 43...
  • Post in thread: EG4 6000XP wiring to Reliance Pro Tran 2 transfer switch

I don't believe there's a need to downsize the AC Out breaker for connection to a 30A reliance...Here's something interesting I found in an electrical forum and subsequently confirmed with Reliance... (not sure if I can post direct links here, would be happy to) All load wires on both the 30A...
  • Post in thread: EG4-LL-S communication issue with EG4-LL v2 (6-pin)

@Markus_EG4 Need some help please. Apparently the LL-S firmware update is a 2-step process and requires 2 separate cables? I can only do the RS485 step, had to backout the firmware update when I realized the RS485 cable won't do it by itself. Where do I find the RS232 cable? Can you send me a...
  • Post in thread: Confirm settings for 6-pin eg4-ll v2 (warning code 19)

you must be thinking of a different scenario, it's not a cable that can be reversed. Different connectors on each side, USB on the inverter side and RJ45 on the battery-side.
  • Post in thread: EG4-LL-S communication issue with EG4-LL v2 (6-pin)

I found the thread on communication issues between LP4s and EG4-LL-S, does the same issue apply between EG4-LL v2 (6-pin) and EG4-LL-S? Is it a firmware fix or a modified ethernet cable without pin 6 that's needed? I have 2 x EG4-LL v2 (6-pin) batteries working just fine with a 6000XP. I just...
  • Post in thread: EG4 3000 2AWG to 2/0 connection?

I took advantage of the current SS promotion and I'm expanding my setup from a single to 3 EG4-LLs, and hence moving from the 4AWG cables that came with the EG4 3000 to a bus bar setup. I need some help with the math part as the transition between 2 very different wire sizes looks odd to me...
  • Post in thread: Solar "Sub Panel" or other methods?

haha very true! You can route that spaghetti nicely around the panel but it's still a lot of spaghetti (22 wire runs specifically for the 10-circuit protran)
  • Post in thread: 6000XP - Config to top up batteries at preset time?

I've currently set "AC Charge Based On" to "Battery SOC" and it works as expected, it starts charging the batteries when the low/start SOC threshold is met. Now, I would like to add a daily preset time range to charge the batteries, in addition to the start/end thresholds. The idea being on...
  • Post in thread: SOC drop - battery calibration issue?

This happened last night, what can possibly cause this SOC drop from 29% to 0%? 6000XP with 2 x EG4-LLs. Battery comms in-place and working, threshold to start charging the battery at 25%, back to grid threshold at 20%. System worked as planned, I didn't even know this happened till this...
  • Post in thread: SOC drop - battery calibration issue?

thanks for the quick reply! Will top them off, with the winter low solar yield they spend very little time at 100% currently
